  1. Thanks for the suggestions, I will have a look when I'm back at home!
  2. It turned freely but when the wheels saw small impact (i.e. bump in the road between normal road and a bridge) it would trigger the roughness. I drove probably 300+ miles without realizing that it was my hubs because it felt exactly like bump stripsIn any case they will be going back to rock auto. Thankfully amazon ships quickly to Santa Cruz so i was able to buy Mile Marker hubs here to use for the drive back home to WA.
  3. Yeah I really got no idea, returning my SKP hubs to rockauto and rolling with the Mile Marker 28 spline instead
  4. The shudder seemed to be solved by engaging it in 4x4 mode on the hubs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Or is it the front left manual hub making all that noise.. That’s what Les Schwab said it could be
  6. Unfortunate update I think I have some form of transmission shudder. Went to Les Schwab to confirm it wasn’t brakes/diff/hubs etc making the noise. Sounds and feels like highway bump strips when driving 40-60mph. Any suggestions for how to proceed? My current plan is to get it checked out at a transmission shop somewhere and probably fix the torque converter clutch solenoid which is what P0740 suggests. Really hoping there’s nothing else wrong with the transmission
  7. Hello, on day two of my road trip down to Cali here. Seemingly out of nowhere I got a P0327 code, so I searched this code up in the forums and it brought back no results so I assume this isn’t a common issue. Engine runs fine, been around 18-19mpg with no stutters, rattling, knocking/pinging, etc. the whole way. I cleared the check engine light but it came back the next time i started it up about an hour or so later. I do have P0420/P0430 and P0740 as well so those could have triggered it. Not sure if anyone would be able to provide much help given that it could be as simple as a loose connection somewhere - but all suggestions are welcome.
  8. For P0420/P0430, has anyone tried the O2 spacer mod on the downstream sensor to trick the car into making the codes go away? I've seen a couple people online use an "O2 Sensor 90° Adapter" with an optional "Mini Catalytic Convertor" attachment.
  9. I don’t mind paying the tariff, just let me know what their estimate is. I wouldn’t want to shell out more than $150 usd for shipping..
  10. Will do - I’ll share findings here when I can. Oil leak has fallen off of my priorities for the moment since it seems to be running well otherwise
  11. Looking at rear AC 2” lift coils, Bilstein 5125 shocks, and a missing link courtesy of@BCangler99. Probably going to run front AC 2” coil springs and front KYB 335015/335016 excel-g struts 4x4parts.com kept telling me I should get the camber alignment kit ($30/e) as well as a new strut tower mount ($50/e) for each wheel, are those required or just random crap they’re trying to upsell me on.. Any other required equipment while i’m on a shopping spree? I’ll definitely save some cash on the side for necessary repairs that come with lifting a vehicle
  12. Wow, speechless over here. I’ve literally been daydreaming about a lift for weeks now but I’m just a college kid with a very tight budget That would mean the world to me if you’re really willing to gift me the parts. And yes, when I get around to lifting it, I am definitely posting pictures. Check your inbox for a message
  13. Hey, thanks for the reply. I may be interested in your equipment as long as someone can confirm these would also work for an 02. Not familiar with the differences between model years. Wasn’t exactly going for AC coils but I would consider.
  14. Cleaned out the engine bay with degreaser and a garden hose, doesn't look perfect but got some of the gunk out. I'm second guessing where the oil leak is coming from, looks like the valve cover gasket was actually replaced maybe 7 years ago (50-55k miles back). Back at square one with the oil leak.. Honestly have no idea how to diagnose what is leaking. All I know is that there is no smoke/burning oil when I drive.
  15. Hello all, I've gathered some decent experience in terms of mechanics after working on my car a bit but I still am quite uneducated in how the suspension is set up. I'm trying to draw up a plan for all the parts necessary for my lift and wanted some feedback so I don't miss anything! I've went through the forums a bit to try and see what others are running but again, not too sure what I'm getting myself into here. All I know is that if I'm going to mess with my suspension, I want to do it right and replace coils/struts/shocks rather than just try to get by with a spacer lift. Spacers after the OME coils settle would be fine though. Hopefully this doesn't set me back a fortune. My understanding is that the "standard" or a popular suspension set up is as follows: Front: Old Man Emu (OME) HD coil springs alongside KYB struts Rear: Land Rover MD (9447) or HD (9449) alongside 2” Bilstein shocks What else am I missing here in terms of equipment or modifications to my Pathfinder? Would I have to extend my brake lines, etc. As for how to obtain the equipment, I'm also a bit lost. I know SFCreations is no longer producing new lift equipment so that's out of the question, but I know 4x4parts.com is another common source for suspension parts. I see front coils are available for purchase here: https://www.4x4parts.com/i-18981165-pathfinder-front-lift-coils.html ($180 for a pair, presumably AC brand?) and here: https://www.amazon.com/ARB-2928-Old-Coil-Spring/dp/B004P9JSMI/ ($249, doesn't specify quantity but the image has a pair). Not sure where is best for purchasing KYB equipment. Found these two on Amazon, KYB 335015 (left shock?): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C44C44/ ($60) and KYB 335016 (right shock?) : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CODES4/ ($75) For rear Land Rover 9447 or 9449 coil springs, I know LRdirect.com has them available (9449: https://www.lrdirect.com/nrc9449-coil-spring-90-rear-lh ($140 per coil) and 9447: https://www.lrdirect.com/nrc9447-coil-spring-90-fr-lh ($150 per coil), but I'm not sure if that is the best website available for US buyers. That LRdirect.com link for both the 9449 and 9447 mentions that the spring is for the "passenger side", I assume that only matters for front suspension applications on an actual Land Rover, and can be ignored for rear applications on a Pathfinder. For the 2" Bilstein shocks, I found something on amazon. They sell the 33-185569 5125 model in single-packs: https://www.amazon.com/Bilstein-33185569-5100-Shock-Absorber/dp/B009FU6I6G ($109 per shock), no idea if these are the right ones haha. If you believe there is a better website or even a better part to use instead, please let me know! I am open to any and all feedback/suggestions. I know there's a lot to digest in this post, so hopefully one of you is willing to sit down and nerd out for me here. Thank you!
  16. Ordered 6 of the NGK 96355 spark plugs as well as an oil pan gasket, thanks for the NGK brand recommendation. Still haven't been able to check on my repair history for hoses and whatnot so I'll update the thread later on that. Again, aiming to do the spark plugs and valve cover gasket this weekend so I'll have more updates then. For the wash, there's a touchless car wash near me but I don't believe it has engine degreaser (it does have Rain-x though ). I'll look into that matter later, should probably show the engine bay some love too.
  17. Just did an oil change, not sure about belts/hoses/etc, will have to check my maintenance logs for that one later today. I could definitely do spark plugs since at this point I have no idea which has been repaired when since I did a bit of hot-swapping when I was troubleshooting my previous misfire code. Any recommendations for spark plugs? I wouldn't mind getting 6 of these off Rockauto: NGK 96355 https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=9779996&cc=1431960&pt=7212, is the extra price worth it on these ($11-ish each)? I don't have access to any sort of power or pressure wash unfortunately.. Just a garden hose with a jet sprayer attachment but that probably won't suffice lol
  18. Okay - thinking that I might tackle the oil leak next weekend. What other sorts of repairs or maintenance should I look into while I've got it all dismantled? I've had some issues with ignition coils/spark plugs going bad in the past so is it recommended that I should spend time replacing all of them while I'm in there?
  19. Once again, thanks for the pointers, and yeah.. needle nose pliers as well, but they did work out fine in the end. Now I'm just wondering what else to fix on my car before my big road trip..
  20. Success! Took about 3 seconds after leaving the driveway for me to realize how easy it coasts now. Did a test drive for around 30 minutes in a pretty hilly area and I have to say I am quite satisfied. Thanks for the guidance here, really happy with how it turned out so far. Hope these somewhat cheap ($100 ish a pair) SKP hubs last me a while! More random blurbs about my installation experience: The install took me about an hour for the first one to kind of figure out what I was looking at and how to take the thing apart, but the second hub took 15-20min after I got the hang of it. In my opinion, the hardest part was wrangling the stupid O-ring clip thing (or whatever you want to call it) on and off the axle. Maybe I just grabbed the wrong pliers but that part was brutal. Also, didn’t have to take the wheels off to install, for any other newbies wondering.
  21. Planning to do the manual hub installation tonight. I don't have any spare grease on me so I'm going to install without it today, but someone holler if I gotta go put some back on before driving more. Hopefully I have the tools to remove the oem auto hub, looks like its in there pretty good. Excited to feel the Pathy roll down the hill without needing to step on the gas to maintain speed limit
  22. Bought the 28-Spline version of the SKP SK404461 manual locking hub (set of two). Will keep the thread updated if/when I get to it this week! Thanks again for the help on this so far, really appreciate it.
  23. I did watch a couple videos on YouTube of owners/repairmen doing the valve cover gasket replacement and it seemed to get really tricky and time-consuming. That said, I do have a good week-long stretch where I'll have another car available to commute with but I don't have the parts on-hand yet (oops). Just ordered "FEL-PRO VS 50608 R Engine Valve Cover Gasket Set" and "Permatex 82180 Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker" off Amazon. Was gonna run with Rockauto.com but the shipping/return process on Amazon works better for me. I'll drop another comment if/when the valve cover gasket repair ever comes to fruition. I work 10s and I might realize pretty quick that working on my car is the last thing I want to do when I get off work Although I can always save it for the weekend. Thanks for the extra guidance again.
  24. Thanks for the replies! The quote for a valve cover gasket replacement was somewhere near an upwards of $2600 which seems outrageous, so I won't worry about the oil leak. And it doesn't seem like it would affect the car much so long as I keep topping off the oil. Will definitely take a look at the factory service manual... Haven't really flipped through that too much yet. It honestly seems like I'm getting greedy with the mechanical condition of my pathy, as it basically runs flawlessly minus said conditions in my post above. Thanks again for the pointers! I'll update if I attempt to fix anything.
  25. Hey all! Thanks for the info - going to give stuff another read-through in a moment but yeah, I got a manual transfer haha.. Sorry should have mentioned that
