  1. While looking for the miss I opened up the ECU and there's a burn spot right in the center on backside of board. I'm guessing this is the miss. How critical is getting the exact number matching ecu.. is close okay. I have a MECM-W185 E1, I found several MECM-W187's tks again
  2. Yes, 43 teeth from cam to crank will put the crank timing mark at about 5:25, this results in the crankshaft keyway being at about 11:00 as described above, so when balancer goes on the timing marks should be about 12:00 not 9:00. The truck runs, rough but runs. I can't set the time using the timing marks. I made my own mark, green dot in my photo above. I don't know if this will cause a problem or not. It's a brand new balancer, supposedly for a 97 pathy. The old balancer that was on the truck is the same way as the new one. I read a post where someone else had this exact same issue but a fix was never posted.
  3. does it really matter if it has spun? The 'new' balancer might have just been cleaned up and painted.
  4. My balancer, on the left, with the crank keyway @11:00 puts my timing marks @9:00 !?!?, the one on the right, from youtube, with the crank keyway @11:00, puts their timing marks at 12:00 where they are suppose to be.. do I have the wrong balancer? I ordered a new one for my 97 3.3 pathy and its same as my old one.
  5. Hi, after installing a new timing belt I noticed my crank pully timing marks are at the 9:00 position. I figured my balancer had spun so I ordered a new one but its the same way. Keyway on the crank is at 11:00 but the marks on the balancer are at 9:00, not 12:00.
  6. strangely when I first started working on it the crankshaft position sensor was unplugged, but it actually tried to run better than before I plugged it in. Installed a new dist this evening, no change. Checked compression on no.1 120psi. suspecting my fuel injectors. I don't smell any gas fumes.. but it also doesn't even try to start when shooting starter fluid in it.
  7. 97 pathy 3.3l no start. have fuel at the rails, removed spark plug, held to ground while cranking and have good spark. nothing when I spray starter fluid in. truck is new to me, looks like it has a new distributor, new plug wires. crank sensor measures about 200ohms, what to look for? tks
  8. I had this same problem, then it started happening to all windows, rear, handles, seemed like the body was falling apart, so I had a decent truck cab sitting in the corner and low and behold it fit perfectly on the 87wd21. Doing a SaS on it now. rearend should look familiar..
