  1. So let me get this straight, I'm not sure where my QX4 was originally purchased, but I'm pretty sure it was Indiana. I have been driving it there for the past 4 years, but only recently moved to Washington. (where Im not covered) Do you think I'll still get helped?

  2. Thanks for the great info so far! I have a 1998 QX4, not sure why my profile says that...I'll take care of it. About the 4wd though, I do have the on-the-fly knob and 2 cupholders by the shifter. The only thing on the center console is the transfer case lever.

I wanted to get the hubs because I can feel the drag that the front axles are introducing. It'd be nice to cut back some of that and increase my gas mileage a couple mpg's. If that pump is meant to shift the truck into 4wd, would it really be that bad since I won't be using the 4wd knob anyways? The only time I'd even be using it was when the hubs are engaged already.

Funny you mention the seafoam too, I've been using that on the last 4 cars I've owned. It's been around for ages, just not many people know about it. I used that same hose you described too! I'll try the TB method as well, I just figured it would better to have the engine running so nothing pools up and possibly hydrolock the motor.

  3. Who told you there was a pump on the front axle? Nope, sorry. No such thing. Many R50 owners have Warn hubs installed with no problems.

Go check out the How-To section in the Garage for how to clean your TB...

I don't remember which post I saw it in, but I found it when I searched for warn hubs. I'll definitely check out the garage how-to, I somehow must have missed it.lol

  4. What's up everybody, I just moved back to the Norhtwest from Indiana and I FINALLY have a reason to mod my truck! So I have two different questions:

    1) How do I clean my throttle body? I noticed that if I disconnect the air intake anywhere past the MAF to access the throttle body, the engine won't start. How can I get this job done?

    2) I'd like to get Warn hubs, but I've read in a couple different discussions that it affects some kind of pump connected to the front axle. Is this true?

Btw, I just used my stock intake and a cone air filter with a MAF adapter to make a MUCH higher flowing shorty intake! It's works GREAT too, there's definitely a noticeable difference in midrange.
