  1. Go ahead and post the part number. I may need to do this in the future. It would be nice to have it archived on the forum.

    Mark

the part is a NTE964 , the guy at frys was zero help, I had to cross the part # I had .

    So far so good !

  2. Well I did the 2 min fix. So far so good. The hardest part was 1) finding the volt reg ( Frys had them I have the part # if anyone needs it ) and 2) soldering it, Its a real easy fix ! Thanks to all

  3. I posted this in the garage, but thought I would ask here too. I have a 1992 and the fuel and temp gauge will go all the way up (spike) , then 15-20 min later they work fine, any ideas why ? I was thinking to try the volt reg.Any help would be great.

  4. Ok so I did a serach and found a fix, but before I go tearing apart my dash let me ask you.

My fuel and temp gauges sometimes will "peg" reading hot,and full, then after about 15 min it goes back to working fine.

you guys think it may just need "the fix"? or is it something else? thanks

  5. not sure I quite follow that statement but you should have a + and - for each speaker 2 rear and 2 front...so 8 wires total (4 + and 4 -)

Sorry what I mean is I have a wire harness adapter ( after market) and I wanted to by pass the rear amp

the harness is a 2 pice unit one is neg, pos switched ,pos constant , remote power, and front speakers, the other is rear speakers and rear amp .

So what I was asking is will there be any problems if I just connect the negative (black), the two (red and yellow) positives and front speakers wires (gray gray/black white white/ black ) th

and wire the rear spekers directly to the after market stereo ?

    Thanks again Sal
