  1. Looks like you did a 2”lift. How are the 32” tires? Rubbing anywhere?

Definitely had to do some trimming on the front fender liners, but it’s minimal rubbing. back wheels definitely tuck on the trails and sometimes crunch that back fender but nothing too bad so far

  2. 3.3 sucks to change. I’m not sure about the 3.5 but even with it sucking you can do it if you’ve got the tools. I always make a longish extension and go at it from in front of the subframe.

Umm I know when my starter has died in the past it usually clicks instead of starting for a while before completely dying.

If you can, the next time it refuses to crank, climb under the truck and give the starter a good whack with a hammer, but make sure not to hit the wiring or plug.

The hammer trick has worked for me, my starter has started to go out I think. I’ve had to bang on it three times in the past two months.

If I were to replace it, should I just confirm the details with a new one? The OEM part on courtesy nissan is almost $300 while most others online are less than $100.

Any recommendations or specific things to look for?

  3. If it where my vehicle in that color, leave it stock for now. That’s a really good color and fine looking paint. Wait until you get new wheels/tires and then decide if you need to change other stuff to complement them, as the wheels are more permanent than is the color of you fenders and bumper.

That’s what I’ve been planning, but trying to gradually have in mind what I’d like to do to it so I could budget it out. It’s likely next year will come around and I won’t have done much at all to her, but at that point I’d know what I want. Just picking through ideas right now

  4. Almost seems like a shame to bedline a clean truck, but it would help break up the beige. I'd say go for it. Flat black's good at making things disappear, so it seems like the perfect choice for those rims, but might not be worth it if you're going to replace them anyway (might make them harder to get rid of).

You have a great point with those rims, I’ll take that into consideration.

  5. I had the same wheels on my silver 01 rig when I first got it but I didn't like them much. Your particular setup is the only I've seen with them that looks really good. The paint color and wheel/tire combo you have is sharp and  your truck is in great shape to boot. Really dig it. Im not sure I would black out the wheels though. The combo of silver wheels with black trim and the gold body could look really clean. Maybe do the black trim first and see how it looks adding the wheels after if it needs it?

That sounds like a good idea, my only thing is that I wouldn’t have many if not any other silver decals/trim on it. I’ll see how it is after the trim and tint for sure, I’m just currently skeptical. I’m glad you like the rims now, thanks! :)

  6. I did this with plastidip. Used graphite pearl clear for a gray finish. Looks stock.

That’s why I’m going for black. I like the stock two tones, but I’m looking for something more aggressive and unique than that. Plus the rhino lining would prevent any scratches, which my bumpers are covered in right now.

Just a mock up of what I’ve been considering: Rhino lining the bumpers, fenders, and rocker panels. Thoughts?
Also put some coloring on the window because I’m planning on getting tint as well.
The rims I’d paint black until I can get some steelies and new tires.

  8. I did try those “euro style” headlights. They’re the ones with black around the edges of reflector. They looked sorta cool but the reflector itself was terrible. The beam pattern was way scattered and uneven. OEM is definitely the way to go.

Definitely OEM, since I only need one replaced I’d need it to match the other.

  9. I have a friend that helped with the installation of my bumper and whatnot, and said he tried to polish that yellow headlight. There is some cracked residue on the edges and looks like someone tried to do a diy polishing that backfired. The other one can be cleaned up, but will likely need to purchase a replacement for ol’ yeller.
