  1. Looks like the problem is in the camshaft phase gear. I think they are dealer only @$499 each. While in there its best to replace everything. Since mine has the 3.5 its just cheaper to replace the engine with a low mileage (40k) used engine. I wonder since the vq35de engine is in the 350z, some altimas, and the maxima would it fit in my pathfinder?

  2. I took my pathfinder to a specialist, no shorts, all the timing parts were getting the correct amount of voltage ect. He cleared all the codes and took it for a drive, he went like 50 miles of hard driving and it went into limp mode, engine light came on, codes showed the camshaft position sensors ect..he cleared the code drove it hard for 50 miles and engine light came on and limp mode again, he pulled over, turned engine off, cleared codes and started it right up again and it ran good for 40+ miles...he doesn't know if its the ECU or it needs a VVT cam gear...

  3. I was just wondering because it has the Bose sound system, and each speaker has its own amplifier..if the stereo was installed maybe somehow the amplifiers stay on because the new radio has a built in amplifier...but I'm going to trace the battery wires and make sure they are not kinked or corroded, then try to check out the camshaft senor wires.

  4. 2 new catalytic converters (old ones were stopped up and got so hot they melted the 02 sensors), after 30 miles of driving it shows one of the camshaft sensors as faulty, put a new one in..still shows new one as faulty and runs just like before...sounds like diesel and no power. Mechanic says must be in the timing gears. Any suggestions?

Before I put another 1k into it?

  5. Mechanic cleared all codes, it ran fine for like 20 miles. They said come pick it up, they couldn't find anything wrong. I told them to drive it again since the outside temp when they drove it was 60 degrees. They drove it this afternoon @ 82 degrees and it started losing power again and sounding like a diesel. The engine light came on and they ran the codes, no camshaft codes only catalytic converter codes. It has brand new exhaust from manifolds back, only 1100 miles on it
