Ok when it stops raining and the ground drys off I will checked there first. Mid next week by the forecast. I will repost my findings. Cheers
  2. Hello all, Nice forum! I was looking for a solution to my problem and got a little sidetracked reading here! SO my problem is that I have a thump/bang and my mechanic says nothing wrong! The thump occurs when the clutch fully engages and the engine takes the strain and also if you decelerated with slight engine breaking then accelerate. If you are extremely careful you can stop/lessen the thump with easing the clutch off or riding the clutch. Not ideal. It feels like some sort of mount....engine or transmission or perhaps drive shaft connection but this is my first non-car so I am really not sure. It doesn't feel like the clutch. Sounds like that back of the truck rather than the front...maybe. Does anyone have any suggestions? BTW it is a 2.7 L TD27ETi I4 Turbodiesel R50 Terrano 1997
