I had a service done at the dealer and they said I needed my drive belts replaced. So, I went bought Gates belts and took it to my mechanic and he put them on yesterday. This morning, it was cold for Alabama spring 40 degrees, and the 'finder screamed louder than I have ever heard. Stopped when it got really warmed up. Is this just new belts or did my mechanic not check the pulleys good enough? Any thoughts?

You bought a newer one and put it in your 2002? I am wondering if I can find a nav unit from a newer Nissan and be able to plug it into my 2004 and it work. I am probably making things more complicated on myself, but hey I want to maintain that same factory look.

Good to know. Anyone ever put a newer bose unit from a different year into one? I wonder if that is possible because of security or what not.

Why, oh why, does my Bose in dash changer not want to find XM a bunch of the time? It will work great for weeks and then all of a sudden it won't even go to that stop when I push the radio button. Anyone know what is going on? Or how to fix it?

2004 trouble staying lit when starting

Update: I cleaned the MAF and the intake box and the throttle body. Hasn't done the weird no starting thing yet. Makes me happy. Also, the bose 6 disk changer radio was being weird and sometimes not finding the satalite radio but it hasn't done that all day either. Now I have a squeak coming from the belts or it coming from the pully on what I think is the power steering pump. -

Nah, they won't help. I got a tremendous deal. I knew about the bank 2 emission code. I used that to get a steal. I knew that code could be something as simple as an O2 sensor or a bad plug so I wasn't worried about it. I knew it ran great so I didn't worry about a clog catalytic converter. -

This is super frustrating. No matter how many times I do the three procedures my MIL never blinks. It just stay on the whole time. It's going to the dealer Wednesday. If anyone can think of something else let me know. Thanks. -

So, the airbag deal worked. My airbag light is not flashing anymore. Okay. I tried all those other procedures. They didn't help. However, I might be doing something wrong. On the last one, idle air control test, it says do something until the MIL stops flashing. Mine is never flashing. Make sense? There are no check engine/service engine lights on, it has 172K miles. I really appreciate all the help. -

Thanks, everyone. I am going to see if I can do all these procedures in a few hours. I also found one that will get the airbag light to stop flashing. -

I have to admit, the switch thing sounded like stuff you use to tell annoying people on jeep forums to try just to waste their time. however, I did see others trying it. I tried your method and it didn't do anything I tried another "easy" method and I thought it worked because it cranked right up. But it didn't after I tried to crank it again. Air flow deal is and look for leaks.m tomorrow. I appreciate it. A new wrinkle, I was seeing clients for about two hours this evening and it had time to cool off. It cranked right up when it was cold. That explains why it always cranked at the dealer it sat most of the day. Don't know if that helps. I hope I can figure it out. I will look up where the -
I just signed the papers and purchased a 2004 Pathfinder. It's an LE Platinum edition, if that matters. The first time I drive it off the lot, after purchasing, I stop and it won't crank with just a turn of the key. If you turn the key and give it just a little gas it will stay lit. It has done that every time since I left the dealer. Any ideas? Once you give it that gas it never runs a second funny or feels sluggish or anything. I am new here. I have a long history on Jeep forums. I built and wheeled jeeps for a long time when I was younger. I use to be Jeepinparrothead on forums. I figure I needed to change names on here.
