  1. IIRC... I believe there are halogen projectors and xenon projectors and be certain that this projector is designed to output light from a xenon d2s bulb and it should be fine...

Most of the ebay projector head lights just LOOK like Bi-Xenons, but in reality they are just ~okayish~ (and that's being nice) halogen projectors....

I kinda got that vibe when I was reading the descriptions.

  2. I can't tell if either of those would work, because they don't seem to have the notch cut out . Then again, they may just be stock photos.

I'm no expert on lighting - by far. I just keep adding lights until I can see to my satisfaction. B)

  3. You ought to post the specs on your lights man, I think more people would be happy with what you are running in the long run.

My lights? They're nothing special - just some aftermarket lights I bought on ebay. They work great, and are pretty bright compared to the OEM lights. Gauging by how few people have flashed their brights at me over the years, I don't think they're too bright. I've been pretty happy with them. Here's a pic of what they look like:

  4. Howzip going guys...been a while since I visited the site and might I say that this site is still the best and probably the only one with a lot of knowledgeable members.

I ventured to a different hobby for the past 2 years (old school bmx) :)

I need your expertice again guys in converting my 1993 pathys headlight to a HID.actually my front grilles and headlights are from a 93-94 hardbody.I did this conversion a few years back.

    few of my questions are

Is there a composite headlight for the 89-95 hardbody (round one)? The headlights I have right now are the sealed type and the bulbs can not be replaced on those for me to convert to HID ...or is there any other route on doing this without having to replace my headlights from sealed to composite?

what brand of HID kit would you guys recommend and where can I find them?

Thanks in advance and your input is greatly appreciated guys

Can't help you with the HID conversion, but am wondering if you're familiar with vintagebmx.com?

  5. Hey everyone, Im new here. I just got my pathfinder from my dads shop a few months ago. Somebody just left it there and said they didnt want it anymore. so my dad got the title and gave it to mee =). Anyways i did some work Rear pads, Rotors, calipers and made my snorkel. And today i got my license and was driving it and going around a corner at a pretty low speed i could hear kinda like a mushing sound from my rear axle. I wasn't sure if it was the LSD and thats the noise its supposed to make, but im just checking.

Also when making a sharp corner it feels as if something in the Drivetrain in Binding up.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Max

Had the same thing happen to me. Had to replace everything in the rear diff. Mine was LSD, too.

  6. In the following pictures you can see were I cut the bull bar and add an extra piece of steal and weld it.

And then paint it with rino lining.

Its no a profesional job but holds the bull bar with no problems.

Thanks for posting those. Looks like a great job to me, and exactly what I'll need to do.

  7. I had the same problem when I went to install my ARB bullbar.

I have 3 inch suspension lift and 3 inch body lift in my truck.

As you can see in the pictures before any modifications to the bullbar you have between 3 or 4 inch gap.

What we did is that we cut the bull bar in it mounting points and weld extensions and then I cover the bottom with rhino lining.

    So far no problems.

Great shots! Any way I could talk you into taking some close-up shots of where you cut the mounting points or describe where you cut them? Yours looks awesome.

  8. I left mine in, soaked the hell out of it, loosened the clamp bolts and let it slide out where it needed to. It was stubburn, but I just tapped the joints lightly and it moved, the stress on it made it move. Saved me the time and headache of removing it then trying to re-align the splines putting it back.

It's ideas/expertise like that that will more than likely have me take you up on your offer to help on the BL. Definitely want to get this done before CC. I've got some 34's on black steelies that are begging to get in the dirt.

  9. And here are the same pics with where (approximately) I intend to cut:

    ARBcut1.jpg

    ARBcut2.jpg

    ARBcut3.jpg

The angle on the cut of the last two is supposed to be the same.

The horizontal cut will be filled with a 3" plate or sandwiched with a bit longer plates, and the vertical cut basically just slides down 3" and is re-welded, with some extra plating added for strength.

    Is that clear as mud?

    I think it will work.

  10. I think I may have figured something out. I was talking with porsche966 today at lunch, and he gave me an idea that's much simpler than the concept I was thinking of, which included modifying how the bumper actually attached to the frame.

Anyway, below are some pics of how the ARB attaches to the frame. I'm going to post the same pictures in a few minutes, but with red lines showing where I plan on cutting the ARB. More plate will be welded in to accomodate the lift.

  11. On the expanding foam.... how would that be bad? Isn't it closed cell when it dries?

I'm talking about the product you can buy in a spray can with a straw, like "Great Stuff".

Seems to me it would work.

  12. As the title implies, I will be installing a 3" BL, but I have an ARB bumper. Is there an adapter kit available or has anyone done the mod to the bumper to make this work? If you've done the mod, do you have pictures or plans?

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.
