  1. Hi. My dog ate my seat belt, quite literally. Right through it one night when it was left hanging out the bottom of the door. I've been trying to get a replacement on eBay without luck. Contacted Courtesy Nissan, who I have bought from inboxed the past, and they say the part I need is no longer manufactured. They have one for the 1989/1990 pathy but can't say if it will work. They actually suggested I asked in the forums while they hold the order.

Anyone have any idea? And if the earlier ones won't bolt up, anyone know if the 1996-2000 will? Help please.

"Thank you for your order. This is to let you know that, according to the VIN provided for your Pathfinder, part # 86841-83G10 Seat Belt Assembly is incorrect (this is for a Pathfinder manufactured between 10/1989-12/1990 with an interior color code of "K-Gray"). You actually need part # 86841-83G16, as your Pathfinder was manufactured in 03/1991 and has an interior color code of "B-Blue". However, this part is no longer available. Please let us know how you wish to proceed."

  2. I bet shipping is a beast. Looks great though.

Trust me, some things are really bad. When I bought the torsion bars I had to pay 150% shipping and duty so I essentially bout the bars twice and then some. Wasn't happy at all. But the smaller things, as long as they are valued less than $50 US Dollars then I only pay shipping and no duty or tax. So that's not so bad for light items.

  3. Yes indeed, it's too bad. Even in the day, when i'm feeling flashy, I have people indicate they are blinding them. So it's only for emergencies or if someone refuses to dip their high beams and you need to make them aware of what high beam really means. I drive with the mini ones all the time though, but I point them more down to the road instead of straight ahead. I also angle them slight away from oncoming traffic. I think that woks as I don't get flashed very often for those.

  4. Part out or wrecking yard is probably your best bet. I've got a good one in my '95 that I'm parting out but I'll bet shipping to Jamaica would cost more than it's worth.

I'd be inclined to open up the switch if you can and see if you can track down what's gone wrong. It's a momentary switch, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong in there, and it could very well be fixable.

Thanks for the offer of assistance that i'm honestly just seeing. Apologies for the delay in response. I eventually found a switch on ebay and bought it. Every small used part for these things seem to cost $40+ bucks on ebay. LOL

  5. 4. Bought some 3" lift springs, Bilstein struts and extender Upper Control arm - yet to be installed.

    6. Changed out the front indicators to some smoked clear Euro style ones. Changed the factory spotlights (which had finally broken) to some 7" LED variety and swapped out the 2 LED on the bush bar to one 24" light bar.

That's what I can remember for now. Oh yeah, had to rebuild the transmission. That wasn't fun.

  7. Hi everyone. Does anyone know where I can buy the rear window release rocker switch? I broke off the switch in a moment of enthusiasm. It went back in and stays but will not do anything when rocked.

I can't find a replacement on ebay etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  8. And the results

    Base model. All lights off

Headlights and spotlights (Both with HID 55watts ballasts)

    Headlights/spots and Light bar

Light bar , no headlights or spotlights. You can see the cut off. Angling the bar down anymore won't help because it's so far back on the roof (the way i wanted it) that the roof cuts off the drop down effect.

I'm very happy with the results, It's a wall of light.. almost makes me wish for an islandwide power cut

The next phase will include moving the two smaller led light I had on the roof to the front grille, there are already purpose built mounts already on the bar for it. Secondly, putting a smaller ligtht bar at the back of the van.

We will be going back to rewire with a thicker gauge wire and run the wire through the tailgate. When this was done originally, the run was too long and the bar was not getting enough wattage, so only 2/3 of the lights worked. the shorter run through the door solved that problem but I don't like that look and don't want to drill the roof.

  10. I also fitted a light bar this past weekend.

So I Installed a light bar over the weekend. It works great I chose a 32" bar, nothing wider would fit the rack and still have bar to attach. Went with a mix of flood and spot.

    20150904_135004%201000x5621x_zpskpsdnkfz

we drilled some holes in the rack

    Then he fit the bar

After that he ran the wires along the rack and secured with tie straps.

  11. Thanks for the kind words guys, it's appreciated. It's a labour of love for me now.

    SO SOME UPDATES:

Got the under carriage greased over the weekend. Think i'll get it done again in a week or so to make sure the squeaks I continue to hear are there to stay and not just because it was poorly done

    2015-08-31%2014.48.04_zpsornrlq3a.jpg

I also had the muffler tip lifted:

    Before

and after. I wanted it sprayed black but they ran out of black spray. WIll probably buy a can and do it myself at a later date.

  12. I'm happy to report that I got the centre bonnet insert and all is again right in the world

    20150827_182558_zps0xygi2l6.jpg

I've identified the next area I think I would like to focus on. In my attempt to return buggy to her former glory, I would like to replace all the old cracking factory rubber.

Initial checks indicate that the prices are higher than I ever imagined for the individual pieces all around. So i'll have to acquire them in pieces over time. Until then going to invest in a bottle of Rubber trim reviver and see if that helps conceal the gaps for now.

  13. Thinking off entering this year's Jamaica Off road challenge. This is a video highlight of last year's own, in case anyone is interested in seeing what we get up to down here. The obstacle course at the end looks like fun.
