  1. That fuse should blow before frying any wires. Did you smell smoke? Have you re checked the fuse to see if it blew again? If it did then I would say you have a wire shorting out.

no i didnt smell anything, but its also affecting the way it starts though, how about if i remove the cig fuse?? would my pathy still function normal??

  2. hi recently i was trying to test a light on my cigarette lighter and realized that it shorted out and long with it the stereo wont power on the interior light doesnt come on and also the clock on the dash board, but everything else works fine . i also check to see if i burnt out a fuse and all the fuses are good none are burnt out, is there some thing else i should check , its weird , please help

  3. Hi I seem to have some Idle problems with my 1993 pathfinder , when starting to warm up like when it normally does starts off normal as usual at around 1400 rpms and it drops down to normal 1000 or 1100 rpms then suddenly goes spikes up to around 1500 rpms and stays there for a while and when i press hard on the accelerator and it againdrops to normal then when i lightly step on it then it spikes up again and stays up again.. i changed a fuel line that was dried and cracked and checked for other leaks and it appears to be normal.. what could it be??

  4. I had this happen to me a month or so ago. Lucky for me I am usually broke and only get about 20 bucks of fuel at a time. Yes it will burn out. Water sinks to the bottom. Keep it full and it will flush out eventually. If it is water of course. But twice I had water in the tank, both times from seven eleven gas stations.

oh ok so its not that much of a big problem , well sort of,, thanks :) i checked on thr antifreeze level and oil and its all normal so it is water in the tank , so i'm gonna let it burn off and put better gas , or can i put some sort of gas treatment????? please reply :)

  5. I suspect the fuel is contaminated with water. Water will settle to the bottom of the fuel tank, as it's more dense, and so will be the first thing the engine sucks on when you fire up from refueling. To make matters worse, modern "oxygenated" fuels with added ethanol are slightly hygroscopic - they use cornstarch filters to absorb any moisture that may have made its way in the fuel, but those can become saturated and need replacement (which doesn't always happen in time).

so is there a chance that it could burn off with more use?? or is there a fast solution to this problem??

  6. Did you fill all the way up?

Yes, sometimes stations get the wrong thing pumped into the wrong tanks. Water could have leaked in as well. I'd call the station to see if there have been any other complaints.

White smoke usually means antifreeze (or water) is burning, so check the radiator to see if it is full and that it doesn't look like it is mized with oil.

You should try not to drive it until you figure out what is going on...

I'm moving this to the Garage section where there might be more input...

no i havent filled it all the way up, the diesle pumps were seperate from the gas pumps , im gonna check on the radiator, thank you ,, i hope everything comes out fine , if theres any other solution please let me know.

  7. today i was out doing some errands and my pathfinder was running very good without any problems and i saw that i was running low on gas so i stopped at a gas station put some gas once after fueling i took off and suddenly it was sputtering and losing power and was running pretty rough and i also saw that a little white smoke was blowing out of the exhaust , i checked on the oil ( after it cooled ofcourse ) and it looked fine , and also notice at taking in first gear the engine rattled a bit and it never did before,, what could have happend??? please help,
