Hey all! Got a bit of hesitation with my truck upon start up and was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what I should or could do? I have done all the main stuff within the past 6-9 months. NGK Platinum plugs, fuel filter, air filter, new muffler, and fresh oil changes as needed. My tires are 265/70 r16 General AT2'S so I understand that my mileage for gas might be decreased by a little bit but since the new muffler 2 weeks ago it's even worse. I'm getting about 14.5-15.75 mpgs and thought with the new muffler I'd be possibly increasing my mpgs. Anyhow, I saw on the 96-04 R50 Facebook page that someone had changed their MAF sensor and that it now runs like new. Keep in mind that my Pathfinder has been pretty well kept and maintained so I'm leaning towards purchasing a new one (MAF sensor) just to see what happens. I'm no mechanic though and would appreciate any information or advice for doing this swap. Thanks in advance!

Try blowing out the vacuum lines and charcoal filter. That was my problem with the 97' model Pathfinder I had.

265/70 r16 tires should be the biggest you can do and still will probably have a rub. Be careful!

Help with my blend door problem! 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE 3.5L 5spd and 4x4 with manual heat and air control panel. Advice please on a broken blend door!

Can't understand why my blend door is stuck with the vents on "face". This time of year I had the heat on and when I changed to defrost while on a high setting it "broke" and is stuck on face. Any videos or suggestions for the repair would be greatly appreciated!
BTW, it's a 2001 Pathfinder SE 3.5L 4x4 5spd manual if that helps along with manual heat and air control panel. Thanks!!!

2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 5spd with stock 16" wheels. I tried to get my new General AT2'S on the factory rim size and it rubbed against my front coil struts. 265/70 r16's
So, I had to buy rims to keep the new tires. Here's a pic:https://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/5804d08926ba2/20160926_182731.jpg?

So, if I understand correctly..have the transmission fluid changed even if it's a 97' AT with 184k and I don't know how long ago it was changed? I just bought it and noticed that it can't decide what gear to go with at 40-45mph.

Well, if it was a speed sensor would the modulator be humming after I shut the truck off?

Hello! I think my ABS modulator is going out...it stays on most of the time but if you turn the truck off, it stays on. What's your best guess as to what to do please? Thanks!Sounds like your loosing a speed sensor, or got some junk on a sensor. Just for giggles, have you checked the brake fluid level? that should bring the red BRAKE light on, but it never hurts to look.

Creaking Front End
in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Posted
Had similar issue with my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4x4 5spd after I had changed everything in the front end out and put a small lift on. Though I thought like you probably (wtf); I later discovered that it just had to settle a bit. Then I had some creaking popping noise too about 30,000 miles later and got worried about it and took to the Facebook 96-04 R50 page. They were pretty dead on with guessing a cv axle either going out early or like my mechanic told me; "it might have just got in a bind" as I was unable to replicate it. Hope this helps. Good luck and I'd encourage you to check that Facebook page out!
