  1. Its the first motor I have ever pulled apart so I an glad this is a simple one.

In the previous link they talk about replacements and I think it was just easier to repair this one. Granted its only a few weeks repaired but still going strong.

again I recommend seeing the previous locked discussion, Link in OP

  2. I was attempting to add this picture to this topic

  3. Mine recently started doing it so bad that it's unbearable to drive. I guess karma's a bitch sometimes considering I just made fun of this issue not long ago lol. So I've located the leak, it's the rubber fitting between the two fuel rails towards the front of the engine. I've seen people "tightening the clamps," but I don't know how that's done. Could someone explain that to me please? It would be greatly appreciated!

Bob you figured out how then didn't bother to explain? I guess its easy once you see it,

I just wanted to be prepared with the right tool(s). Anyone got a picture?

    Tips for Newbies

The pumps are both attached to the Windshield Washer tank

To remove the tank it take three screws best to use an extension with 10mm socket, a Phillips if really in a bind.

You will need to pull two hoses.

Need to crimp down with needle nose on the two plastic barbs to get it from tank.

On the motor itself I used a #1 from a jewelry screwdriver set without issue.

Needle nose to pull up the three metal tabs.

  5. Followup,

Water would leak one day then wouldn't the next (when I had the mechanic check it out), then leak the next day.

Ended up being too big a job for my skill level, so took it into the same shop replaced the water pump, belts timing, thermostat and no more issues of leakage.

For the cost of the work, and in hind-site I should have done the starter as well, whats $150 more when paying $ 800+ bucks, I ended up having that job done at a different time. I am not sure if anyone thinks of that one as part of maintenance with the timing belt but because of location maybe that is advisable to throw that into the list if the starter has never been replaced?

  6. Anyone ever remove the old shocks on the glass, I still haven't done it. I know its possible and has been done before a guy on Amazon review listed it as difficult didn't give details and I didn't get an answer from the guy. Another one answered but he had the shop do it and didn't see it take place.

  7. The lift gates are a simple replacement about 30ish total on Amazon, I also bought the lift gates for the glass about 15 a pair..

Very difficult removal of the glass ones, I am still looking for an answer on how to remove the old ones as there seems not to be a way to take them off the ball joint, unlike the replacements.

I'm thinking of either using a Dremel to make a slot on the outside and removing it by wrench and a flat screw driver, or cutting off the outside sheath off the old ball socket (via Dremel again) and then replacing with the supplied new one..

    Anyone have a better idea?

I see this section of the forums posts don't seem to go too far back into the past..So I have to wonder if the answer may have existed here once upon a time.
