I guess I could cut the shroud out. If i drove without it on it wouldn't cause too much trouble would it? I recently had some damage done to my front end and now the fan scrapes the bottom of the shroud pretty bad so I'd just rather do without it right now.
-
without removing the fan or the radiator/hoses? I guess i can't get away with not removing the radiator hose at the top, but after that can it just be pulled right out from between the fan and the radiator?

I thought JJ used integra seats and put pathfinder rails on or something like that? Could always to a Hardbody bench conversion, just gotta do something about the e-brake handle
this would be awesome! Do the bench seats in a hardbody have the same brackets as the pathfinder? 8 bolt setup? if so what year hardbody should I be looking for at the junkyard?

Thanks for the info guys, I'm gonna check the connections to the batt and the coolant temp sensor, but I seem to have fixed my problem. I asked for advice from the previous owner (my dad) and he said it could be that the maf sensor was dirty, I pulled it out and cleaned it off and seem to have fixed my loss of power and surging issues, but I still have a really low idle, about 400 rpms (just bareeely above that first tic mark from the 0 tick mark) so I'll check those things you guys suggested and see if I that fixes anything
-
Just started my day like normal, drove it for a couple hours in traffic, ran some errends, no overheating or anything like that, and then on my way home out of nowhere I come to a stop sign and the engine startes surging from the 1rpm tick mark to about dead (0) and then back up until it eventually just died.
I pulled over and parked it waited a good 10 minutes for it to cool and checked the oil, it was about halfway from the full reading so I poured in the rest of my quart that I had left and started it. Still surged but I was in the middle of freaking no where and am currently unemployed right now so theres no way I could have it towed so I started her up in neutral and easily gave it some gas and drove the rest of the way home
Eventually it stopped surging but it is very hard to get up and go like it lost power or something somewhere but once it gets up to 2-3rd gear it drives fine. 220k miles
Any help guys? Would really suck if my pathy is dying now... Got a job interview tomorrow morning..

where does the cable start and where does it end? I have the same engine 1994 pathy and my trip and odometer stopped working months ago, assuming its the sensor/cable. lol
-
I just thought that if there was no oil on the dip stick at all, that would mean that it would be a couple quarts of oil gone, not about only 3'4ths a quart..
-
I went and checked my oil today and there was no oil on the stick at all, triple checked..
Poured in about half to 3/4th a quart of oil and it was back to the full reading, also triple checked. Is this normal?
-
nah, I only siliconed the part that the rubber insert goes into and only on the outside haha..
-
Probably a good bet.. damn.. just siliconed the thing on there! lol

I just got a new wiper fluid reservoir tank, replaced all of the hoses to the fluid shooters and to the tank itself, pulled out the 3-way and made sure it wasn't clogged, and I'm getting low pressure, it barely hits the bottom of the windshield.
Every once in a while it will shoot out correctly but only during that one time that I pushed it and it worked.. Could this be an electrical problem?
-
Yeah, i'm ordering a dayco timing belt + tensioner pulley, driveworks waterpump w/gasket and an oem thermostat. Anything else?
-
Is there anything necessary to also change out while I'm doing this? Besides those 3 items, will I need anything else?
-
Thats the one! thanks!

So I've had known that there has been a wire dangling not connected to anything just hanging just above (or below haven't checking in a while) the starter.. I'm beginning to think its the wire to my oil pressure gauge because I just recently became really low on oil and no light.. In fact I never even know I had an oil pressure light.. haha.
Anyone know where the switch is located so I can connect that wire to it?
-
Does anyone know the alarm switch's part number on a 94 pathy xe? Its the 3 button security switch thats to the right of the ebrake, I broke mine by accident and had to disconnect my alarm and keyless..
It was faulty anyway so I want to get a new one so the alarm actually works. lol.

If i don't have 4wd would my vss be in the cluster then?

Have you ever changed the transmission fluid? Do not add any additives except Lubegard Red, which is used by many transmission shops and has been mentioned specifically in some manufacturers' technical service bulletins. It will lower operating temperatures and help keep things operating normally.
Bypassing the stock transmission cooler and running an auxiliary cooler with an inline filter is a very good idea too.
Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner may help your fuel gauge issue if sulfur build up on the sender is the problem.
I only ever go to chevron lol, I changed the ATF a Long time ago and my truck has never shown any other problems. I've never put any additives in my trans..
-
I never really had these issues but ill try my best, with the ac, it seems weird that it only does it when it's on, you might have something wrong with the unit itself? Something loose inside, never had that issue myself
The fuel gauge might be an issue with the sensor, I don't quite know where or how but it seems like its just junked up.
I assume you have an auto, it sounds like the clutch plates (correct me if I'm wrong I don't know the correct term) but it might be rubbing and or not enough ATF, maybe change it? Had a conditioning agent?
Your over heating issue, could just be an air bubble, if it becomes more of an issue I'm sure you know throw your heat on and rev the engine so cycle everything threw, when's the last time you did a coolent flush? Oil change too?
That's all I can really think of, hopefully nothing too major, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, I personally never had these issues in my 95
Not so worried about the overheating, just wondering if that was normal on a real hot day, It doesn't do it any other time but I'm more then sure I could use a radiator flush. Had a oil change about a month ago.
Yeah its an automatic, No idea what ATF is or a condition agent.
Maybe its time to consult with the manual on some of this stuff..
hmm

Hopefully their just standard maintenance, I've done a lot to my pathy over the past year and still never left me stranded..
216k miles 1994 Nissan Pathfinder XE-V6
Alright so today it was quite hot (more then typical florida weather) and I noticed my temp gauge about a quarter and a half away from being all the way up. Radiator reservoir is topped off, and my ac pully seems to be making a bad vibration like noise. Only happens when the ac blower is on (obviously..) Otherwise I don't notice any changes in the engine or mechanically.
Another problem that showed up is that my fuel gauge has been acting up pretty bad, had over a half a tank and watch it go literally a quarter BELOW E and then when coming to a stop the gas went back up mostly.. No idea whats going on there.
Lastly, I hear this high pitched squealing when the truck shifts into gear (as the rev goes to shift into the next gear, I hear a squeal until it gets in gear)
No CEL or SES lights, and I seem to be running just fine, I just hope these are some easy fixes..
Any help guys?

actually the color chart didn't do me any justice. I just took a paper plate, put about a dime amount of white (pretty much all i need) and added a small grain of black, mixed and put some on the handle to see if it matched, I repeated this process about 3 times before it was the perfect color.
If you want to get it perfect and not waste a whole paint, just use my method and just take out a little bit on a plate or somethen, rather then just adding the color to your whole paint.

Yeah, It can be sanded to get an extra fine coat, The picture isn't a perfect showing of it, but Its pretty damn near close to covering the rip, its only noticeable when you look directly at it close up haha. but it did a better job then expected and now it doesn't scratch my damn arm all the time. haha
-
So I guess I got ahead of myself and only posted because I was excited. I've had a really badly ripped door arm, and found a good replacement at the local junk yard, but to my despair, it was also ripped, but not as bad.
Here is the after shot!
Definitely a good buy!

Hey guys, Got this very small rip in my door handle and was wondering what input you guys have if you're familiar with this product? The questions I have are, is it small enough to not need the supporting paper? So I just put in the glue, dry, then add the compound and heat?
Also any idea which grey is closest? I'm pretty damn near color blind, so if you guys know which one would be ideal to mark it in the picture I provide pleaseee?
Making her look brand new!
Will post before and after pics so you guys can see if this product is good enough to try!
Leak at fuel rail and then stops?
in 90-95 WD21 Pathfinders
Posted · Edited by rbaum94
I noticed gas smell while driving down the road and pulled over, right underneath the plenum where the 3 injectors are in the middle I noticed satuaration on the 2 in. gas hose, but the hose itself wasn't leaking. I followed it to the first (closest) fuel injector under the plenum and discovered it was leaking at the rain and I think it looked like the rail itself was getting burned and I could see very faint smoke coming out.
I turned the car off and let it cool down and some sort of crust developed right in the small centimeter crevice between the fuel rail and the plenum at the first fuel injector and the smoke stopped. Turned car back on and the leak stopped and the saturation is gone.
Anyone else have this happen?
