I got the wrong Trans. It was for the 6 Cyl. So now still looking for a trans......... Anybody know anybody out in So Cal.

Yes I checked all the drive lines and it's the Trans. Now I get a wining sound on first and second gear. Just picked up a trans and transfer case for $550 from a salvaged yard. I'm paying the extra $150 for the core charge so I can keep my old set up. It's so hard to find these and when you do it runs $650-$750 just for the trans. a rebuilt kit is only $100. so I'll keep it as a spare. Going to install this weekend.

1987 4cyl 4x4 5spd Trans makes a popping noise and jumps when I put it in reverse. Any suggestions? Anybody selling a trans, or a pick up yard near or around OC, So Cal.

I have a 1987 Nissan Pathfinder I have had it for about a year now. I never had an issue with my Pathy till today. I got home today and as I was reversing into my space either my tranny or transfer case started making a grinding popping noise. but only in reverse. Can anyone tell me if this has happened to you? And what you did to fix it? I have a 5 Speed tranny, 4 Cyl Z24 motor.
