Last winter I notice my rear def had a few lines that weren't working...so I picked up this kit to fix it.. http://www.amazon.co...21796650&sr=8-1
Can't say how well the kit works cuz before I could get around to that project I awoke one morning with a rock through my rear window....solved my defroster repair problem anyway...
I used this same kit just last weekend to patch my defogger, works great. Thankfully I had just one wire broken, the one located about dead center in the window....d'ohhh!

Getting them off the vehicle is easy, just pull them off. But you will destroy them in the process though. Getting them off a vehicle once installed without damaging them, even with a putty knife....dont really think its possible. Definately would take some patience! I would be impressed if you did!
Putting the new ones on you have to be careful and apply even pressure to avoid bending the pot metal under the rubber.
Good to know, heading to see a 'for parts' pathfinder tonight, it'll be a good opportunity to practice I've got a few odds and ends I'm trying to find including those mouldings so all is not lost if they do break. I may just end up getting a new part for the front drivers side window as its the worst offender.

That's funny. I got an advantage on the truck there cause i'm standing on top of the curb. Its just hard to see in the pic, an illusion!

Ya! Pretty happy about the new truck, threw in a fresh air filter today and sprayed the MAF with MAF cleaner for good meaure!

Hello World!
Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself to the group. Picked up a white 95 XE Pather a few months ago in fair condition. My mechanic says its got a solid drive train and frame, some body rust. I say not bad for a 17 year old truck! Just under 200,000 km's. So far have really enjoyed the beast and have taken any excuse to take it into the back country. I'm new to 4-wheeling but know my way around the south end of Vancouver Island pretty decently as i have a dual sport/dirt bike that I've been riding here for the last few years. God i look forward to driving and being warm at the same time! Not to mention camping with more than minimalist gear! Anyhow, I have really appreciated all the know-how posted up on this forum as I've been getting to know my truck, i'll be bashing the demons out it for the foreseeable future, i'll let you know how it goes!

some searching around on this site has revealed that the lower door window molding seal things are pretty easy to remove if you have a putty knife off to the junkyard this weekend!

Yo! i'm thinking of replacing some of the seals on my doors as well. The seals at the bottom outside of my windows are shot on about three of four doors. everything else looks about fine. I think the 'scraper' bit you mention is part 80820 and 80821 in this parts fiche:
Maybe that helps? i'm going to try and find some junk yard parts or just ignore it, not sure how far into the door you'd have to dig to replace them. I guess i was kind of hoping to find a quick cheap easy fix , you know, the holy grail lol.

What did you do to your Pathfinder today?

A simple thing but significant, I got my wheels balanced! Its way better when the truck doesn't pull to the right or shake. Also checked the tire pressure with a half decent gauge. Road trip this weekend!
