This is actually at dusk, the DSLR flash went off and all 6 lights are on (headlight relay mod not installed). The top lights are Hella 540 amber; the picture actually shows the relative brightness well and the Optilux are bright!!

Damn! awesome set up! will post my ride over the weekend.

  2. Awesome! thanks for the feedback guys! i will relay my headlights and I will also buy new headlamps as I found out that the ones I have are knock offs made in taiwan. I think I will relay my headlight sometime next week and post my results :D.

  3. HIDs are garbage in the stock headlight housings on nearly every vehicle. They reflect a ton of glare, and actually make everything look more monochromatic versus halogen headlamps. More info than you probably care to read here.

Relay your headlights, see this thread.

    Welcome to NPORA!

Thanks a lot! will read and make decisions soon, I can barely see out of the car at night! :togo:

  4. Here's the thing, I just finished fixing my car but the headlights that are currently set up on the car are massive crap, is there any upgrades that you would recommend or rather not recommend, and also are HID headlights a good option cost wise?

Thanks in advance for any responses dudes!

I'm also a noob when it comes to this kind of stuff since I am a new Pathy owner

  5. :welcome:

First thing is to make sure the timing's right, the carb is adjusted right, and the vacuum lines are sealed. I don't know the four-banger too well, but this might help: http://forums.nicoclub.com/86-nissan-720-z24-no-power-t471775.html

That actually helped a lot! I know understand what to look for and how to pot when things are going wrong!

Hopefully I'll be getting my Pathy back on friday from the shop, can't wait for you guys to see her!

  6. If your air cleaner is stock you could weld the piping to adapt or build a kind of box that bolts down as the air cleaner would and converts it accept a pipe something like this:

    or

    Link 2

Awesome sauce!I will look into that and as soon as I have it up and running I will let you guys know! that just made my day

  7. You seem surprised that Z24s have carbs? Of course they do.

I'm selling some car parts and some guy called me to buy a carb for his Z24, he was telling me the EXACT same thing you typed.

Just curious, why did you have to replace your valves?

Maybe in a heavy Pathy, but these engines aren't really known for "feeling" weak.

Short of extreme measures such as a turbo or blower, you won't get very much additional power. You can do the go-to mods like performance exhaust, synthetic fluids all around, cold air intake.

On an engine with 106hp from the factory, you won't really be getting any huge gains.

well to be perfectly honest, the problem was that the distribution chain had one of its guide break, so that timing of the engine got messed up, that made the cylinders run off beat resulting in the valves getting all twisted and stuff, so the part that houses the valves needed to be rectified, plus it's currently running on a different carb than the original one, it's bigger but it still doesn't go that well, I was also curios as to if this engine type accepts a snorkel or am I just dreamin here :blond:

  8. Hey guys! I am new here and I live in Costa Rica, i recently had to change the distribution system on my Z24 engine and had to rectify the engine block and changed all the valves for new ones, , and the engine has a carburetor too, :wtf: but it seems that the car is still lacking a like push if you know what i mean , so if you guys have any ideas or suggestions on how I can increase horsepower i would greatly appreciate it. I will post pictures of my car as soon as I can!

    Thanks! :aok:
