No, I do not think it is anything serious. I suspect it is merely the difference of having the CV's turn VS not turning although I have not felt how bad it vibrates. Have you jacked up the front and spun them by hand, looked/listened? This would be my next step.
As DVW stated, the drive flanges (solidly bolted on via 6 bolts) have to be removed to install the Mile Marker hubs; I have the same on a 1999.0. The flanges make the CVs turn any time the wheel does and the Mile Markers select if they spin or not.

What about a cabin 4x4 lewer, maybe is not turning off completly.
Transfer case, maybe thats my problem. I'll take a look on weekend, and see what I can find

Exactly, when locked but not in 4x4, you are spinning your front CVs. This is extra inertia and if they are binding at all, can easily cause vibration felt in the steering. If you were still running the stock drive flanges, you would have this effect all of the time.
Lifting increases the CV angle, making it more likely to be stiff or binding and larger tires generally amplify any steering problems or effects. How much of a change did you make? I'm going to assume it was all done correctly...

I have KYB GR2 struts and shocks, 2" lift, Nx4 1" strut spacers in front, 31x10.5x15, Mile Mikers manual hubs.
You think this is something serious, or some parts I should upgrade?
Flange, where is it located?

With your hubs locked in the wheels will turn all the 4 wheel drive parts. That means that front differential will be turning and your front drive shaft will turn even with 4 wheel not engaged.
So in this case, my problem must be with front shaft.
What i think is that after switching from 4x4, inside the cabin the front drive shaft is not completly unlocking the differental. Maybe all I need is some grese. What you guys think?

179 km/ 111 miles so far, motor and trans runs well. Hope it last for long

I just wanted to add, that I never had this problem before changing the lift and wheels.

So what kind of hubs do I have? I bought Mile Makers Hubs with locking and unlocking mechanism in front.I am asking this question because I've been having some problems with these hubs since I started using 4x4.
Let me explain: With my hubs locked in, and 4x4 liver disengaged, when starting to accelerate 40km/hr my track starts to vibrate, it also feels like 4x4 is engaged even the green light is off. I dont seem to have this problem with hubs locked in and 4x4 engaged. When I unlock the hubs there is no problem with driving, everything works well. I just changed the cv boot, and checked U joints. Any ideas??

I am soon getting OME coils for a modest lift.
Question is, how long will my CV joints last if I keep the auto hubs? Manual hubs are NOT an option for me. My wife drives it in the winter in 4x4 auto, and I just hate manual hubs.
I don't mind changing the joints a little more often, as long as its not every month or anything

Is this true that you need a "car key chip" to install a prostart remote starter in 2000 pathfinder? Meaning, one key for ignition, second key for remote starter.
-
Nope, no clocking or alignment or anything. I have the MM locking hubs on my wife's 1999.0 and there are no issues...
If it just feels like 4wd in the steering, I agree that is just the difference of the CV shaft turning. It could be that they are stiff or binding...
If it is still actually still in 4wd, it is a transfer case/indicator issue. You have a 4x4 shifter not a knob selector, right?
B
Yes its 4x4 shifter. I am leaving it today at mechanic so they can grind of my calipers a little bit. I found out, the side that is making the grinding noise caliper touching wheel a little bit. I hope this is the answer to my problem.
-
They should only install one way...granted it can rotate around the bolt circle but That's no issue
So, there is no aligning with any marks. Out of the box , just put it on.
-
could have been something that was loose and you tightened when you put the front end back together from the CV job
I have a simular problem happening since I started using my manual hubs. My left front wheel starts making banging noise when I start fast from the intersaction. It only happens with my hubs locked. A 2 months ago I instolled my new struts, new cv boots and did an alighment. I realize that my left wheel is very close to caliper. Could this cause the problem?
-
So you currently have auto hubs? I think with auto hubs you have to go in reverse for a few feet for them to unlock.
I have MM hubs. Is this a problem or they just work this way on 2000 pathfinder.
-
If u don't unlock the hubs the front CVS will still spin causing drag but the tcase should be in N so there shouldn't be any input to the front wheels
Should there be a marc, in what way to instal the hubs on to the wheel or it doesnt mather how you put it on?

When you select 4wd in the cabin you should have a "dummy" indicator light on your instrument cluster. Does the light go off after you disengage the 4wd?
Yes the light goes off

Is there a specific way , to install manual hubs to work properly on my vehicle. Let me explain my problem.
The other day i tried my hubs finally. I locked them in, engaged 4wd inside the cabin. It works great. I then disengaged 4wd inside the cabin, and when I drive I feel like 4wd is still on. What could be the problem? Is there an explanation for that?

Above and Beyond- Trance around the wourld

I can't believe. They finally came up with one. About 2 years ago, I was assembling a rc crawler and I wanted to use pathfinder top. I searched internet, couldnt find in anywhere. After all I used ford bronco.

Does anybody has this vibration in 4 wheel drive shaft? Since I bought my truck , have a light vibration , I wonder is it normal or some adjustments has to be done.
Sorry guys, I looked into nissan book. What I ment is 4x4 shift inside the cabin. It has a little vibration when the motor is on in parking gear. When I apply gas i feel more vibration and granding inside.

Yesterday, I had a similar experience on my vehicle, vibration when I pulled out from the intersection. I was thinking to fix it on Monday. I need to do some shopping today. Can I go on the highway? How much does it usually cost?

Here is my (re)intro I just wrote if anyone cares to read... intro.
I found this truck locally and had to have it. It's an 87 4Runner body on a 01 4Runner chassis; old school, top-off looks with the 3rd gen Runner reliability. The price was too good to pass up. Solid truck with a great wheeling platform. I put about a 3" lift on it, the basket and lights and 285's. It came with bumpers and a body lift and some newer seats. Has been a perfect truck for my needs all summer.
Some pics mall crawling. I apologize for the low res pic with the dirty cellphone camera lens.
BTW it will still articulate quite a bit more, swaybars are connected with flex to spare in this photo.
You know when I was buying 4x4vehicle I was looking in to 4runners or pathfinders. These are my favorite. Nice picture man.

They also make an awesome light show when you do burnouts
I find out its illegal to use tire studs in GTA. I just wonder should I lock my hubs when driving in icy road or plane 4x4 is good enough.

Also, take a look at this Forum. Most of the locals get together for coffee meets and wings and stuff. Great way to meet other enthusiasts and learn a lot about your rig. Most of the member base is from GTA.
Thanks man. This is awesome. I just registered. Also I filled the application for 4wd club Ontario. When summer comes I can have some real fun.

Thanks. I also thought, maybe I should change my t-case fluid. I have never done it before, god knows what is the quality of it. I read it could be helpfull, in my case.
