  1. I know this has been convered before but I havent been to this site for quite sometime due to the

fact the I couldnt do anything to the car . . too much bills. :scratchhead::scratchhead: .

I remember they said something about a negative offset rim but I cant recall how much of an offset.

Can anybody please clarify this and yes I tried the search button but all I get is nothing. : )

  2. Heres the sotry made short. I got this path and since I had it the shifter can be moved without stepping on the brake.

Pulled it apart found out old owner zip tied the solenoid so it stays open but that wasnt the problem. The real

problem was the shifter button was stuck and it doesnt go back up. Did some wd40 and grease and it went back up but

its hard. Is there a spring on the bottom of the shifter that can be relaced so that itll go back up. If I put a shift

back on it seems to just go up a little but wont go all the way and free the key from the ignition. Any suggestions

in this is greatly appreciated i dont want to spend on the mechanic again reason is he just charged me 450 to reaplce valve

cover gasket and im kind of broke.

  3. Since I got this pathfinder about a month now I took off the shifter right away because I have kids and

you can just shift without stepping on teh brake. Slowly I started thinking how to fix it and finaly today

found out wahts the problem. the old owner strapped down the lever that connects the soleniod so that it stays

unlocked. That wasnt even the problem if he looked carefully. The soleniod works fine the real problem is

that "maybe" theres a spring in the bottomr of that cylinder looking tube that is weak and it wont push the lever

all the way up when the shift knob is back on. Ill try my best to explian. Soleniod works fine locks and unlocks

the problem is that the button when you pressed to shift doesnt fully go back up. Is there a spring or some sort that

pushes it back up and is it accesible without fully pulling the whole thing apart? Has anyone exprienced this problem.

Maybe theres a spring under there that is too weak because the old owner thought it was the soleniod thats the problem and the

shifter was stuck and the springs compressed for years and years. Help would be greatly appreciated.

  4. I installed the pro comps on dududuckling's 2000 R50 with no modification. My '98, only needed a sleeve to take up the space between the shock mount and the bushing on the shock.

    Amen Brother!!!! hahahahahhaa

Thanks for another suggestion. Ill stick to something that has been done before and worked quite well for them. Oh yeah dont mind the vote your reply down thingy I accdentally clicked it when trying to click reply so please dont be offended. The price on these shocks are shockingly cheap nice I like it. Thanks once more.

  5. I use ProComp ES9000 - 929500 from summit. I think they're like 30 bucks or something and work really well.

thank you for another great suggestion. This is what im talking about a thread thatl actually help others instead of bashing them that they dont know crap. Ill look into those shocks and shockingly thats a cheap price. By the way did you have nto do some modifications on the mounts the the above mentioned rancho shocks?

Yep, I did the same - ES9000's. I just made sure the Extended/Compressed lengths looked appropriate and I know several people that run these and love them. $32 each at 4 Wheel Parts in Denver - sweet deal.

My recommendation (and I am no expert) is to find a shock you like/can afford and then research the lengths to make sure it fits your particular application. I think a good guess for a SFD that is NOT "stacked" on a 2" coil spring lift would be a shock that doesn't extend more than 26-27". I'm not sure about compression length, but maybe something around 15". Again, just a guess for your application of a 4" SFD only.

Thanks you too. Yeah ill try the 4in first and if I want to go any higher in the future then well see what the pocket has to say. Im getting closer and closer everyday to getting this holefully i get everything done before those offroad rigs from teh mainland get here so I can check them out at the trails. Oh yeah, our mud and trials here are way different compared to waht you guys go through there. We have major mud problems and our mud here is not like dirt earth with water it gets to a clayish material its hard to explain but very slippery and by the looks of it you cna almost make pottery out of it.

  6. I run Rancho RS5000's that were for a 2000 F250 2wd with 2" of lift. I had to cut the rubber bushing wit the metal sleeve out of one side and push in a regular bushing and they fit like a charm. Haven't had any trouble with them other than one time I over torqued them and busted the mount so I had to get a new one.

Nice exactly what I was looking for. Im pretty sure theres others there that used different brand of shocks and would kindaly chime in so noone would ask in the future.

Muddfildvaynes, how did you decide that the f250 shock was the right shock for your application? Bro_die, if you see me ask a question that gets this off topic, please let me know. Also, are you just looking for what brand of shock to run or what specs as well? Does doing only a SFD require a different length shock? Seems rear shocks are not a real common topic on the forum unless I've missed the threads.

Its kool im not the type of person that gets angry when people start asking questions on thier thread its both for mine and everybody else benifits. IM looking for brand choices and specs like what will fit and what wont fit after the 4inch sub frame drop. Those part numbers would be great thanks for the reply. Any other brand of shocks used out there iom pretty sure there is and just waiting to be discovered.

Well when I initially got my SFD the F250 shocks were recomended to me by Shift220 who builds the SFD's as that is what he runs I believe. He originally recommended a brand like Gabriel but I did not think it was a good enough shock and liked how my Rancho's performed with my 2" lift so I did some research and found out how low my axle will drop and how long the shocks are fully extended and the shocks for a 2000 F250 with a 2" lift in Rancho was a perfect match for my 6" of lift in the rear with custom coils; plus it is a heavy duty shock if it is meant for a F250. They had ones for the same vehicle with 4" lift and they were too long. Then I just had to modify the bushing in the shock to be able to bolt on, as they came with bushings with metal sleeves in them. I cut the old bushing out and put a new one back in and it has worked perfect for me for awhile now. The shock length you will need depends on the ammount of lift you put in the rear, and how much flex you want it to have; the longer the shock the more flex but you don't want them too long.

So the shocks for the F260 with 2inch lift is perfect for your 6in of lift hows about it to a 4in of lift only you think itll still do good or will i tbe too high or long.

  7. Im getting the 4in sfd from krfabs soon and need some suggestions for the rear shock.

Il say it again this is my first 4wd vehicle ive been a racing fan my whole life and never played

in the dirt, mud or climbing. What shocks do you guys suggest that will work best and the best bang

for my buck. Thanks in advance for your replies and help. I know there alot here that had

used this kit before so a little advice will be greatly appreciated.

  8. Okay this will probably be the most stupid question but what car or truck can I get a

donor axle from to do a solid axles swap? I really would like to be the first one on island

to do a pthfinder the represent the nissans out here because majority is all toyotas and

    jeeps no nissans.

  9. Nice im getting my lift soon. To those who had used the Krfabs SFD does the lift

require and new set of shocks? Once again im very new to this thing and just working

way up. Ive been wheeling in teh weekends and ill take pics next time. Please let

me know to those who has used this SFD I will be getting mine soon and want to get

everything before work can be done.

  10. Just to help you a little im not no expert im a beginner in this pathfinder thing. Ive been

mailing krfabs because ive been looking to purchase the kit. if you go to the site scroll down

itll explain what you need for the rear. You willl be needing the adaptor for fit WJ springs

and get a 3in lift springs for the WJ. Whats so nice is you get two choices adaptor where you weld

or not to weld. Try the search button it does wonders. I also made a thread about lifting before

if you search youll find it. Good luck.

  11. Im in need of both front passenger and driver door shell. Does anybody know where to find online

that is willing to ship to where im at? Id rather not go with air shipping because those are huge and

air shipping will cost too much. Reason why ill jsut order is I live on an island and I cant seem to

find one here. Also I found this one video store (wierd but true) had this nice metall push/pull bar

in the front. I asked the owner what car does the bumper go into and sadly she doesnt know. It looks like for

a path but I cant fully agree wth myself if it is. On the 2001 path where does this mount onto? I wanted to see

if I can mount it but she doesnt want I might scratch it.

  12. Thanks all for the reply. I think ill try my luck here first because where I live

the shipping will cost me an arm if not a leg too. I had a one that was pretty good but

we towed something this weekend and it was torn up after we were done because whatever

I was dragging the strap wrapped around and was being dragged on the ground.

  13. I dont know if this has been covered before or not but I tried searching and nothing came up.

My two strap gave up on me today and im in the market for a new one. What tow strap do you guys think

that will last will all the towing and stretching that it will encounter. I just want something

with the best bang for the buck here so I wont go out looking for another one in the next couple of months.

What are your procedures when towing another car or truck that's stuck.

  14. Good thing I found this thread. Ive been wanting to get smaller rims for my path.

The thing I was worried baout is that it wont clear the drums and caliper. Reading this

that -12 offset then the next morning I was off to the tire shop. Sadly they didnt have any

rim with this offset but with a bigger negative offset. They had this American Racing wheel

with a whopping -19 offset will this be still able to fit the truck. The next thing I will

be getting is a lift kit and I will be enjoying this truck even more. Took it out yesterday

and the 2 feet deep mud got me no pics I have no camera with me all the time when i do these

    screw ups.

  15. My mistake if I mislead you all. I do stop when shifting from 2H to 4L.

The reversing part i was talking about i when they say try to disengange the

dif first. Heres what I do to make things short. When in 2H I stop reverse couple

of feet and then stop again move shifting to 4H and push down to N and then finaly to

4L. Sometimes teh grinding is there and sometimes its not. At times when I

disengage from 4L to 2H the cluster still shows that im in 4H and couple

of minutes of driving itll go into 2H on its own but maybe its just my mistake

of not fully pushing the shifter forward. If this helps this car is automatic trans and

I did try shifting from 2H to 4H while moving and no grinds at all.

  16. Well took the path for a trailing today and everytime I move from 2H to 4L

itll grind. Is this normal or something is wrong. Sometimes ill take me about

3 tries jsut to engange it. I tried stopping on a flat area put it on reverse

drive a couple of feet and sometimes it works sometimes it just doesnt help

at all. Im jus asking this question because searching for teh answer Im

doing the exact steps its telling me to do. Little help is appreciated.

Ill check transmission fluid tomorrow first thing in the morning after I

let it run for a couple of mins.

  17. Hey guys im in the process of getting this path I picked up recently and in need to change out the valve cover gasket.

Theres an oil leak in the engine got it checked by a mechanic and hes charging my 450 to change out the gasket.

Can anybody please tell me if its worth it or not or you guys have any links ( yes I searched) showing how to

do this itll be great. I can save money instead of paying him 450 just for a gasket. The car is a 2001 v6 pathfinder

any help would be greatly appreciated.
