yes i tried a variety of different ways turning the key on and off, nothing worked...tried waiting after it wouldnt start, waited up to 15 - 20 min, cranks awsome u can easily tell that is is def spark or fuel related
-
just pop it off then back on wait like 10 or 20 sec, no code reader, might have to take it into a buddys shop, thought there just might be a common prob like this that was known, i know that when the snow comes i dont wanna be relying on disconecting the battery every time it dosent start, its weird tho cause for like a week after i got it, never did it once, now all of a sudden its doing it like everytime i turn it off, so i guess it seems to come and go
-
no luck on the replacement ecu, anyone else with any ideas?
-
i guess its worth a shot, but honestly in 10 yrs of selling used car truck and suv parts i dont recall one time i have ever sold or been asked for a ecu from a pathfinder, not sayin that its not or possibly could be the ecu, but seems like a reach, but easy try none the less
-
i know from experience in the old integras and civic they had a main relay that did just this, and the relay controlled the spark and fuel.. not sure if the pathfinder has something similar to this or not..
-
I have a 96 pathy 5 speed, once and while ill go to try and start it up but it just cranks dosent fire, if i disconnect the battery for a couple mins the put it back on it will start right up...any ideas? guy i bought it from swore it needed a fuel pump, but i dont beileive this is fuel pump related if disconnecting the battery will make it start? seems to be elctrical, some kind of relay that controls either spark or fuel and disconnecting the battery some how resets it, any one know anything about this? thanks in advance!

the pathfinder was a very lucky deal..true i do get ppl almost everyday wanting to get rid of there old cars and trucks..but there usually junkers..obviously these deals dont come around often and i do feel very lucky to get into this for 150, guy said it needed a fuel pump and the engine light was on as well, i drove it home from work that night with no probs, unhooked the battery let it sit till the next day came home from work put the cable back on and no engine light..ive been driving it the last couple days with no problems..except the clunking which ive narrowed down to bushings of some sort..my last pathfinder had the same problem, but the good thing is i have lots of access to parts,
-
i still dont get tired of watching it myself...
-
since there seems to be some intrest in my stang i will post a vid from a car show last month...it is my pride and joy and i love my stang, but it dosent drive to well in the rain or snow..and my first option would be the pathfinder, it is my second...
-
all the ball joints and sway bar links look good, cv's look good, only thing i cant really see is the lower control arm bushings and the trailing arm bushings..by strut tower mounts do u mean the shock tower themselves or the struts themselves? guess u cant tell till u take them out?
-
picked up my new winter warrior for 150..quite the deal.. and my summer ride
-
clunky on bumps and pretty much whenever im not on flat ground, sound from front and rear, i know these have problems with bushngs, where should i start? lca's and trailing arms? shocks/struts? thanks
-
just sayin hi, this is my second pathfinder, first was a 98 chilkoot this one is a 96 se, for winter and snow use only..as soon as its good to drive out im in my 01 boosted nitrous mustang that i race and wrench on myself dynoed at 400/440, glad i found this forum, lots of questions, i also run a very large autowrecker and have for many yrs
