  1. NOW I got your attention!! I'm a BMW enthusiast as well as Pathfinder guy, and you could say I've been in withdrawl since I sold my M3 a few months ago before moving.

Anyway...I've never looked at an X-5 as an offroad machine (and I still don't), we've all seen the youtube vids LOL. I was at a Eurowerks 6 (a big show in Minneapolis, MN) today and a guy from Oregon brought this thing! I didn't talk with him, but I though it was pretty cool someone actually did this to an X-5. It may not have the greatest offroad capabilites, but either way it's fun to see someone has done this to an otherwise soccermom/on-road SUV.

Please comment, I won't take offense because it's not mine hehe.

  2. Hey guys I want to say hello to my Colorado 4x4er's that are dealing with the BS all over the state. It just STINKS seeing all the fires and having lived on the front range recently I feel so MUCH for the people dealing with the wildfires. This includes firefighters and everyone else that is helping out!

Just a pic of my Pathy on California Pass (a good couple hours from most fires) in 2011

  3. I ran those passes twice last summer. Yeah, that's right, twice. That's because it's actually that awesome of an area to run.

Nice pics, great view from the top of California Pass down to your rig - that was a nice shot.

Thank you bro! That pic was taken by my girl, with my blackberry cam which is quite simple so for what it is the pic turned out great! I will be getting better pics with a DSLR when I have the chance. :D

  4. The GF and I spent a three day weekend in the Southwestern region of Colorado. From our home in Pueblo West we took I'25 to Walsenburg, and then 160 all the way to Durango. First time to Durango and using that highway, such a beautiful area and Wolf Creek Pass area was awesome!

Our main destination was Durango, so we stayed at the Rochester Hotel/Leland House. Saturday we took the railroad out to a more remote location for an all day ziplining trip with "Soaring" tree top adventures. YES!!

On Sunday we started with a short mtn bike ride in Durango, and then headed North on 550 to Silverton. From there we did some passes and mining roads. I took a few pics of places we went. It was an awesome time and I am excited to hit some more stuff in that area.

  5. Awesome!! I'd love to hit some trails with you guys, I live out in Pueblo West..My girl and I are heading out to Durango this Friday for a three day weekend. We are going to do some passes up near Telluride! :D If you have any suggestions for me in that area, LMK. I know of a bunch of the passes, but haven't been on any yet.

FYI, I am at stock suspension, and just put some Cragar Soft 8's on with 31's. Just little rubbing at full-lock. :D

  6. Alright I've researched and found a few things. First off is that the factory bars are basically WORTHLESS on the early R50's. 2nd I've heard and seen a few people used Yakima bars or the Thule Footpack system with the existing rails.

Question: My scenario is I need to put two 9.5ft kayaks on the roof utilizing my existing roof rack with/out Yakima/Thule/Other bars and mounts.

Of course I would like to keep the cost affordable, but I want something good and worth it in the long run, so of course I won't rule out more expensive systems.

I haven't found a lot on the forums, a couple setups from people that started with a bare roof (well that's easy to work with), but not much using the existing rails on the R50.

Please shout out with any experience you have and what a good scenario may be. As for our bikes, I just throw them inside, I have a good setup for that. :D

    THANKS!

  7. I'm on the same page with a vibration when in 4WD. Coming back from Breckenridge after a baller day of skiing, I put it in 4hi for the short trip through some wet mountain roads. Under acceleration there was quite a vibration, when I let off it was gone. After I put it in 2 it was gone. That being said however, I do have some lesser vibration at 50 and again around 70-80 whenever I drive it in 2WD. I assumed off the bat it was worn U-joints in the driveshaft, and I think this may be the root of the cause. My alignment *seems* fairly straight with no significant pulling or uneven tire wear. BTW I am running on stock tire size and stock (albiet worn) suspension.

Any suggestions? I don't mean to take from your thread *Thunderbolt, however it is along the same lines so I hoped to get some answers here. Thanks everyone! And I hope your problem gets solved soon too man!

  8. I think the overall diameter is differant on the r50 so wd21 spring options won't work.

Your panhard bar mounts on the wrong side too LOL

Ok thanks guys haha, I'm probably going to buy the AC lift with the Rancho 9000's then, thanks! And btw, I am doing the WARN hubs at the same time. :) Now...to do this in an apt garage lol! I'll get it done no doubt.

Let me ask you this though..I know the front struts will work with the springs (as posted by Creekkid) from AC, but do the KYB GR2 rear shocks work with the AC lift? If not then I will just buy the complete lift kit (springs and shocks) as a kit from 4x4parts with whatever combo, i.e. the ranchos 5s/9s etc. After researching it looks like the rear shocks in the KYB ebay kit won't work with a lift..

  9. Thanks kids, here are some pics of the ///M and the Pathfinder.

And since this is a Pathfinder forum, the Pathy in the Penrose Commons in Canon City. :)

BTW my sig pic is at the Royal Gorge, the bridge is actually to the right. I was right at the edge of the cliff, however my blackberry cam didn't quite capture the beauty of the picture.

  10. Hey boyz.. My girlfriend and I just moved to Pueblo, Colorado from Minneapolis, MN. We really love the area and as an avid mtn biker and skier it was a SUPERB place to move.

I sold my 325is beater before we moved out here and bought my Pathfinder and I must say...damn am I happy about that. I've already been on some pretty cool offroad areas, plus just for the mountain roads it's a must. However I do have my M3 for the "Low and Fast" roads. :)

As for the Path I am looking to get some bigger tires, probably just some rims with 31's for now and then an AC lift to follow after I have more funds lol.

There is quite an active group of 4x4 clubs in CO, hit me up on here if you guys want to go hit the dirt, see you around!
