  1. yeh i agree about the oil...i thought that would have been one of the first things to do, apparently they moved oil from lower tanks and moved it to higher tanks??? they said something on the news the other day about not wanting to risk moving it off ship in case they had an accident and spilt it.

They just said on the news that tonights attempt has been put off until tomorrow night (sunday) they ran out of sunlight to hook up all the cables today.

It will be known as the pasha night club soon, it will also have a restuarant, casino and motel :)

Vsicks...I just sent you a pm, unrelated to this thread...

  2. You got a new ship. What more do you want? :jig:

    hahaha :P

they tried pulling it out on thurs night, 2 ground anchors connected to on board winches and 3 tug boats... ship moved a few metres...apparently...then 3 of the wire cables broke and 1 of the ground anchors broke, so yesterday (fri) they had to fix everything that broke and they're trying again tonight (sat).

  3. Hiya

I'm not sure what the advantage of one of these units would be, the way i'm seeing it is all that it does is recieve signals from satellites and using bluetooth to send it to either a laptop or pda screen, you will need to have a laptop or pda for it to work, I'm guessing you have to have the mapping software downloaded onto your pda or laptop then this units sends the satellite signal to the mapping software.

I just bought a HP ipaq travel companion for like $570 (aust dollar) it's a pda with tomtom mapping software built into it, I can't complain, considering the tomtom brand nav units were selling for close to same price, so i got the pda option for only a few extra dollars.

That gps reciever will be good if you already own a laptop or pda and can access mapping software at a reasonable price.

Need to fix some rust that has developed under front windscreen seal at the top, water is leaking into passenger side, anyone have an easy way to remove windscreen without (hopefully) breaking it...i want to repair rust myself and get the professionals to re-install windscreen when im finished. I would get the whole thing done by a panelbeater but i've recently had the same problem with my corolla and it was pretty bad and cost a bit to get done, so trying to be cheap...thanks

  5. since you just did a body lift, did you pull any vacuum lines off by accident?

where and what are these vacuum hoses?

oh and unccpathfinder...i went up from 225/70R15

  6. thnx for replys...

i guess acceleration off the mark has only dropped slightly, it's more in 4th, if i get to even a slight incline it will go sluggish...then if on the freeway and whack her in 5th and it the same thing, the slightest hill and i have to go back a gear and i'm a bit slow getting her from 5th to 4th and if a drop too many revs will have to put her in 3rd to get back to speed.

yeh i did the bodylift myself...just went down to a place called specialised wholesale in my home town that deal in engineering plastics and they also have all the bolts and stuff i needed...

  7. hiya

was hoping for some advice...have a 90 model pathy Z24 motor...just recently put a 40mm susp and a 25mm body lift and put a set of 31" tyres on her...and now she has lost all power...any suggestions for getting some of that power back without spending heaps...it has a set of genie extractors and nothing else.

In the distant future...maybe in a year or 2 i might replace motor but at the moment just want a cheap method if there is one...

    thanks

  8. Quick question...on my windscreen wiper lever there is a dial of some sort that turns on the end of lever and there are arrows marked on lever with a clear window that has a blue indicator thing in it...when you turn dial on end the blue indicator moves up and down...it lines up with either 1 arrow or 2 arrows or 3 arrows...can somebody tell me what it does...i hope that made sense...thnx

  9. hi all

just wanting to know what the stock height of a wd21 90 model pathy 2 door (what measurement front and read) and do you measure from centre of rim to the wheel arch, just wanting to know for when I do susp lift in the next few weeks :D

I want to measure now just to make sure it hasn't been lifted before, especially the torsion bars, I bought this car just before xmas and it has after market shocks in back, but springs look stock, and how do you know if the front has been lifted with the torsion bars...any help would be awesome

    thnx

  10. haha yes... funny story...me and mate 4wd one night, it was getting late so we headed for home (the bush tracks were only like 100 mtrs up the road from home) anyway we get home and forgot the hubs (so they were still locked in) anyway next morning off down the bush again, get to this awesome mud pit so we get out and lock hubs in (oh and the hubs have been that scratched up you can't see the arrows which tell you which way is which) so we jump back in truck and head for the mud...well about half way in and we're not going anywhere...look out window and realise the front wheels aren't spinning then remember not unlocking hubs from previous night...so out the window and onto bonnet, then reach down into mud to lock the hubs in...very fun :D

  11. Hi all

Just wondering if anyone knows of a website or link that has a walk through step by step guide to installing body lift kit, i've read most of the posts on here and they are a bit all over the place, like 1 post will say 'don't forget to undo such and such' then the next post will mention something else...it's hard to follow...i'm mainly concerned with the bits that need adjusting once you have lifted it like radiator/hoses, brake lines, i think i read something about transmission box, i just don't want to start and miss something and brake it...but also i'm only thinking of doing 2" body lift and 2" susp lift and i have read 2"b/l you might get away with not adjusting much...

  12. If you have an R50, you need to take off the column around the steering wheel to get to this wire.

-There are 6 holes in the bottom of the column.

-Just get a phillips head screwdriver that will fit and put it in the hole and start twisting.

-After all of the screws are out, GENTLY pry the column apart.

-Now, you will see the ignition, where you put your key in, on the right side. Follow this to the left side, where a plug is plugged into the end. Take out the plug and cut off the electrical tape around it.

-Now, simply find the white wire, cut it in half, strip both ends, and connect 10-12 gauge wire to these ends.

-Route the wires wherever you want the kill switch to be (mine is in the glove box).

-If you are mounting in the glove box, make sure the switch has enough clearance that the glove box can shut.

-I used a simple automotive rocker switch and with these instructions, you should be good to go.

If you have any other questions feel free to pm me. Oh and just a side note, if you hook the switch up to the fuel pump, they can still get about 10-50 feet out of the gas that is in the engine. This could be enough to put on a trailer or tow truck.

    awesome...thanks heaps for that.

I don't own an R50 but can't see it being too different...i'll just keep cutting wires until one of them doesn't start the car when I turn the key and use that wire...then wire the rest back together :D

  13. what an awome thread, im not that great with electrics but the kill switch hooked up to ignition sounds pretty good, can anyone go into a bit more detail, the only ones i find googling is the fuel pump method, so basically when you turn the key it clicks over the starter motor, is it that wire that you put the switch in? I read earlier about a white cable?
