  1. no it is definatly an electrical smell, and u can see the smoke come up from the/ around the starter area
  2. I have 92 pathfinder xe-v6 that i just did a full rebuild on. got it all back togethor and when i went to prime it the starter started to smoke. i checked all my whiriing and from what i can tell i got it back togethor correctly. it still cranks over strong but after bout 2-3 secs of cranking it starts smoking and you smell hot electical.
