  1. Wow! Will add one on ASAP then. Maybe it is clogging. Sometimes it gets hot, and then one time it'll be cool as a whistle. I stop at a store for 30 minutes and drive it again, and bam! it's getting hot again.

Thanks for all the help guys/gals. Much appreciated.

  2. Hello,

Haven't posted here for a while. Now with the warmer months here in the Mid west. I've been noticing my tranny gets HOT! I can feel heat radiating up through the shifter, and feel heat radiating from around the pan. I don't think that is normal. I'm afraid to drive it far as I'm afraid I might blow the tranny. My pathy is a 1990 SE V6 Auto.

Any thoughts? Or anyone experience this before? 10 years ago, I also had a 1990 Pathy, but don't remember it getting hot like this.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

btw, here is the pic of my Pathy:

  3. I bought a set of the Cragar Soft 8's (Second picture in first post) from JEGS.com and s/h was free, with a handling charge of $13.99. I bought all 5 for $228. This is for the 15X8's though. Summit was charging 40 s/h or something like that. Something to look at.

Otherwise, I seen a little decrease in MPG on my 90 Pathy. I had Aluminums with 30.5 tires...now I have the steelies with 31's.

  4. I agree. I just bought the 3" from 4x4parts.com

It's better to do it right the first time. If you don't have money, maybe a lift right now is not a good idea anyways. Save up some money first and do it right the first time. I'm for saving money too, but sometimes, you just can't. Some things can be short cutted, some things can't...and this is one of them.

  5. Anyone have instructions to install these besides the one that came with the warn man. hubs? It's crap instructions...and it's like a copy of a copy of a copy so and can't hardly read some of the words. I'm sure it's pretty much simple task, but just want to make sure how much grease, and where to put grease in...etc etc...

  6. Been researching a lot on which BL to get. I'm planning on the SL, but since I aqcuired a Land Rover Discovery Series II ARB Bull Bar with winch mount for $50 bucks, after looking at how I will fab it, I'll need at least a 2" BL to fab it on. Otherwise it seems like my approach angle will be reduced as the Rover ARB is a bit bigger.

Anyways, I have found 2" BL to be $30-50 more than a 3" BL. Why is that?

  7. Can Auto Hubs be converted to Manual Locking hubs? I was at a Nissan dealership today, and they said no. I thought it was always possible.

If it is possible, could I use a manual locking Hub from another 90 Pathfinder on my auto hub of my 90 Pathfinder? There's one on eBay right now I thought about getting, and before I do, I want to make sure it's possible. And what else do I need to do to convert it?

Thanks in advance...and Thanks for everyone's patience.

  8. the coils are good but those UCA's don't correct the ball joint angle, they only help with alignment.

Find a compromise, you can get the coils from 4x4 parts and then get somone elses UCA's and then some longer shocks in the back.

Thanks for the info. Will probably just do that then. Which UCA's do you recommend getting them from? Calmini?

  9. Hey All, just wondering how many of you wheel with auto transmission? I just recently acquired a clean 1990 Pathfinder for $300 so can't complain. It has a rebuilt engine and a new tranny, but needs a transfer case. It has a clicking noise coming from the transfer case area while driving. He got it checked out before selling it, and his mechanic said its the transfer case. So will be getting one from the junk yard in a week or so to replace it. Also replacing all the brakes front and rear.

Anyways, I'm thinking about a 3" suspension lift and 32's BFG Mud-Terrain KM's. Or might just stay with 31's. I never wheeled with an auto tranny before so just thought I ask how many of you wheel with auto's.

Oh, a bit bout my Pathfinder...166K miles, SE V6, open rear end(unfortunately)...
