  2. Just my 2 cents but if it still leaked when you tried to tighten it the exahust headers we warped... I would get new ones while you are at it ...My Pathy has the leak issue .. As soon as it is back on the road I am getting mine replaced ..

The other day I poped up on a sidewalk like I always do ( I am a Fireman so I am alway on Sidewalks for parking) Next thing I hear a pop .. the right front is droped by a few inch's .. My lovely shop says the torsion bar went . He cant find the part for a 1990 but I could, go figure.

I know nothing when it comes to non-leaf spring suspension .. LOL

  4. Ok Talk to Pavelow and found the Rod .... The Blend Door motor is shot...... So it was stuck in the Cold air position... Someone before me was in there and pulled to the hot air and wired it open ..... Before winter I will have a new motor installed but man the best thing I did was find this site...

There is so much help here.. Keep it up and Keep on 4 Wheeling .... :coffee!:

  5. I found that last night I sent him a PM to Find out were this part is that he manualy moved to swith it...IE: is it on the drivers side and can it be seen to get to ...

Till I get time to put it in the Shop I dont mind do it manualy LOL

  6. Ok Now the truck is on the road I forgot about the Vent issue I had ...

I have a 90 SE 4wd .... The vent controls are push button and they all work... The Auto temp works...

But All I get is Hot air from the vents ...

I have heard everything from Blend door motor to bad control box...Anyone ever have this issue..

I have a Haynes Manual but it does not cover the 90 Dash setup to well... I dont know were to look for the Blend door motor..

And is a Chlitons Manual better then the Haynes ????

  7. Well its back on the Road... And running great ...

    Total Bill $2200 ....

Just need to do the break's now but that I can do myself.... I dont know of any garage who would do all the work he did for that price....Now time to work on the Add ons...

  8. Ok an Update ....

The cost was $1100 in parts $900 in labor .... This included

Comlete strip down and rebuild after a compresion test.

New knock sensor which was $170.00

Valves laped with 2 intake replaced

New oil seals on the front

    New water pump

Fixed header stud bolts .. Basicly replaced all of them.

    New Belts

    New thermostat and hose

New Vac laines and Radiator Hose's

New timeing belt tesioner and Timing Belt itself

    Of coarse all new Gaskets

Full tune up ... New Plugs, Wires, Distrib Cap and rotor

    and all Fluids

I had my guy check the engine vs a crate or rebuilt and the block and heads were in great shape for the millage.. Would have cost more to crate a motor. That would have been around $3000 .....

I should have it by Wendsday ..... I saw the Block when it was striped .. I was suprised by how clean it was for about 170,000 miles. The Valves were even not bad at all so we tested and laped them ..Only 2 intake were shot from the Timing pully sliping..

I must say it was worth it...Even better to have a good Garage Guy who knows his stuff...LOL

  9. Well I have not posted in a long while but thought I would share my pathy nightmare...

2 weeks ago my truck died ... Thought that the Timeing belt just broke ...I thought wrong ... The person before me had a new belt put on but did not tighten the lower pully that conects to the crank.. This in turn slowly rocked the keyway .. Gee no wonder my Distrib was maxed out with no more adjustment .... 2 Bent Valves, severly worn keyway which my guy can fix thank god.. And he found one spark plug cross threaded which he can fix too..

Well 2k later and my truck will be back running .. all new front seals, water pump, tensioner, thermostat, new belts, and while I was at it new exaust studs .and nock sensor...

Oh yeah its an Interferon Engine ......I know nothing of these engines. When I went to see it he had it done to the block.. did not relize it was all head.....

The truck was worth the money to get it back up .....

  10. I have AC ...But the Belt is off due to well It broke ........ And I played with the Dash switchs and one time it went to blown cool and then I played with it some more and went back to hot ..... I think the Switchs might be shot ....Not sure ....But I know one thing love my Path so I will get it fixed if I have to take the whole dash out ....

  11. Ok I have noticed My Path is just blowing hot air .... I have no Temp Control .I heard the Blend door motor would be on cause ... I have a 1990 SE ..... All the Toys power everthing .... Anyone have any ideal's ????

  12. Broken Studs are one Part ...I do have a Bad Lifter also .I already checked and confirmed that.Lifters are the easy fix . No one wants to do the studs ..The Timing Belt hummmm Dont know I will be checking that one ....

  13. Ok I thought I would introduce myself ..... I just brought a 90 Path 4x4 ... I am a Volunteer Fireman and in a rural area so it will come in handy ....Once I get the oil pump Fixed and the Manifold Bolts ....... Other then that I see a road of fun coming ....
