  1. Well im thinking of finally getting myself a new muffler and all but i would like to know how the different mufflers sound on the 3.3s. If anyone has some sound clips of different ones (flowmaster, dynomax, etc.) could you post em up? Im really not considering horsepower or anything because ive come to accept that i really dont have any to begin with lol.

  2. The temp guage has pretty much been normal, but after listening more and looking around im becoming more sure its the water pump. The sound is coming from there from what i can tell, so i guess its time to take it apart.

  3. My 96 started making a really loud noise today, sounds like its coming from around the water pump. The noise is hard to describe, but at first i thought it sounded an awful lot like the fan hitting something, but upon further inspection i found the fan wasnt touching anything. Also, when I turn it off it looks like a small spray of water sprays up from between the fan and the engine, almost in the center. I just wanted to get any input before i put down money and time on a new water pump, thanks.

  4. Sounds to me like the bulb behind the fuel guage is out. I just put some nifty black light bulbs in mine and its a piece of cake to do, just remove a few screws and the bulbs are easy to get to on the back of the cluster. They are in some plastic things that twist into the back of the cluster, and u can kinda tell which one it is (should be right behind the fuel guage). Hope that helps :beer:

  5. sorry about not posting again ive been terribly busy lol. im getting a camera phone within the next couple of days( i know it isnt a great digital camera, but its a start) and ill send some pics of it. its actually just the spare carrier that came stock with the truck from the factory. my guess is it will fit yours fine. i need to come across the mounts to mount the spare underneath minek though, so if u have urs and dont want them id tak em off ur hands ;) i dont know how long it will be for me to find the time to remove it all though, but ill try and keep up my posts, and i have no idea what shipping would be but ill try and find out. :)

  6. I went and bought a new neg. battery cable and installed it. so far its made a big difference at idle, and no problems so far, i didnt notice how cracked and aged my exhisting cable was.

  7. ok i messed around with it some more and got it to start, as i was workin on it i was thinking about maybe something like that. still had a problem shifting at first, but then it rode ok. now all i really need to do is figure out why it doesnt like to shift correctly, it bein an automatic i figure it must be some computer related issue, but i guess it could be the actual tranny, thanks for the help.

  8. ok ive already posted my problem about the Pathfinder not shifting in the 96 and up section, but now i have an even bigger problem, no start. actually its just not that it doesnt start, it doesnt really do anything. i figured id reset the computer today so i disconnected the neg battery cable and waitied a little while, once i reconnected it i went to crank and got just the click click click noise. i crawled up under there and tried to jump the starter, but it still didnt start. After messing with it a little more, i went to crank again and i got one click then nothing. whith the ignition on none of the little lights in the cluster were on (seat belt, air bag, etc) and the power door locks wouldnt even work. if i disconnect and reconnect the battery i can use the door locks and all the little indicator lights come on again but as soon as i try to crank it clicks once then everything doesnt work again. also, the fuel pump doesnt come on either when all this happens, if at all. i checked all the fuses, and the battery is fine, but i have no other idea what to look for. my only guess is somethings wrong with the computer. sorry to type so much but its driving me crazy, and im missin work until i can fix it, any help would be awesome, thanks.

  9. Ok heres my problem, my 96 auto keeps acting up, not wanting to shift. It used to be that every once and a while Id start it up and drive and it wouldnt shift out of 1st gear.

    Well i was heading out to the beach today and i come to a stop, upon accelerating it didnt shift out of 1st, so i pulled over and restarted it, then it drove fine for a little while until i slowed down and then the same thing happened. It happened a good 5 or 6 times, but sometimes if i popped it down into 2nd and 1st i could get it to shift, sometimes not.

    Anyone have any ideas as to what it could be? Ive allready had the Transmission control module rebuilt, any help would be great.
