  1. Since it got really cold down here in the past weeks the pathy would not get heated up properly so I picked up a new T stat today. Thought I would take a few minutes and pop it in. Opened the hood and took a look at the location stuffed back in behind the belt pullys and thought "you know I think I will just take the pathy out on the beach on try and catch me a red drum". Shut the hood and did just that. I didnt get a fish, but it was a pleasent afternoon instead of dealing with the issue. I wont need any cardboard as it is supposed to get back to 65 this weekend. I will do the job when I get more motivated and hope it doesnt take me 8 hours. From what I saw it looks more like 2 or 3. I think I will go fishing again tomorrow too...
  2. Thanks for the answers. I have both fluids in the garage and will probably go with the DexIII since I have the auto in this Pathy. Looks like I should find myself a repair manual as this info is probably listed there.
  3. I have looked in the owners manual and done the search on the site but have not been able to find any spec on the oil for the transfer case for my 95. I have a LSD rear diff, so I don't think it is the same fluid as for that. I want to change it out after the workout it is getting with this east coast snow.
  4. The MPG is directly related to the use of the throttle. Going over 65 makes the gas go away much faster... Most of my pathy use is slow and local and the mileage is OK if there isn't too much stop n go and she rarely sees the high speed interstate. I do know that driving on the beach in low really can use the gas! However, I just did a 6 hour trip on the interstate and the first tank disappeared as I was driving fast. I tanked up and had to drive at slower speed due to road conditons and it got better mileage. I don't think the Pathy was really built to be an econo box but to take you almost anywhere you need to go, so I don't expect to get the MPG. Tune it up, keep the tires inflated properly and watch the use of the right foot is the best you can do.
  5. After trying to get security system to work properly, I just ended up tearing out the horn/siren from under the hood. The red light flashes consently on the console, but no siren going off all the time. Problem solved. Door locks still work, but not with remote - but the remote never worked anyway... yes it was coded to the computer, just never worked. I hate giving up on a problem, but this security/door lock sytem is just a mess on these models and tearing out the siren was in the end the resolution of last resort.
