  1. Well for $200 I don't think I did all that bad. Even w/ the frame rot. Drug it home last week. Spend a couple hours on the frame rust. Was a little worse than I had originally thought, but that's the norm. Still have to go over the whole frame to check for more rot. Found the rims, tires, lugs, etc for $650. I still need a lot of little things like ash tray, glove box latch, misc, interior crap mostly.
  2. Thanks! I'll be sure to search some more. This forum was a huge help w/ my last Pathfinder. A lot of good knowledgeable people here for sure.
  3. Ok, about 4 yrs ago I bought my first P-finder... a '95, great vehicle. Had some reoccurring issues with the T/O bearing... and ended up selling to a good friend... who still has it on the road happily.... Well, yrs later I found this '94 SE w/ low miles... (it's an Auto) only issue is the frame has rusted out on both sides .. behind the rear wheel. Hell the sway bar fell off. I have some welding skills and figure I can take care of the rust/frame issues. I just had a few questions... Did all the SE's have a LSD? Do I really need a rear swaybar? I'm thinking I do. Haven't been under a Pathy in a while, but thinking it's a big part of the rear suspension. What's the biggest tire I can fit under a stock suspension? Will a 31/10.50/15 fit without issues? Thanks, Aaron
  4. I figured something had to be up, since I've seen every year except the '95. I'll keep my eye out for a '94 manual now. Thanks for everything!!!
  5. Ok, I need a factory service manual for my '95. Been watching eBay for a couple months and haven't seen a '95 manual yet? Are there any companies out there that sell them? Will a '94 manual be good enough? I've seen several '94 manuals for sale. Thanks...
  6. I just bought my '95 XE manual 123,000miles for $3,100. New front drive shafts, timing belt and American Racing rims. I had to put a clutch in it ($200, did the work myself). It has a few little problems, but I still feel like I stole it. My best advice is to do a lot of looking around. You'll find the right deal eventually. Just don't settle for something that's not what you want.
  7. What kind of fluid should I be using? I just used gear oil that said it was ok for LSDiffs. On another note the more I drive this thing the more I'm certain there is something wrong. The diff is partialy locking up just driving around in 2H. It'll scrub the tires in a turn sometimes. The rear tires are definetly worn more than the fronts, as well. Other times the engine is working harder to get up to speed. When it's cold it'll rev right up, but after warming up performance suffers. Fells like something is holding it back. I can also feel some noticable slop in the rear end. I know the u-joint is ok. All these symptoms are random, not happening all the time. They certainly didn't happen on my test drive... Thanks, Aaron
  8. Sorry the pics stopped working. I moved them to another album, just click below... Click here for pics Thanks for the info... All I have to go on right now is a Haynes manual. Still trying to track down the correct year factory manual. An air locker sounds expencive? Is tracking down a good used diff my best/cheapest option? It's not going to see much off road action, just towing my drag car. I need it to be reliable. I've had this thing less than two weeks and have already had to do a clutch job. Now diff issues? It's getting frustrating. Thanks! Aaron
  9. Hey All, Any idea what I've got here? '95 Pathfinder 4x4 124Kmiles, suppose to have a LSD. I just changed all the fluids and this chunk was clinging to my rear diff drain plug. I know I shouldn't have any big chunks and this looks bad to me, but just wondering if any of you have come across this before? Just trying to get some input before I start trying to track down a good used diff. Noramally I wouldn't worry about finding this too much. but I have been getting an occasional thud/clunk from the rear while starting from a stop... and sometimes while making a turn the rear feels like the diff is locked? I'm new to this 4x4 stuff. Also, the diff took just over 3qts to fill it? All the info I found says it should hold less than 2qts? Thanks, Aaron
  10. Sta-Lube makes a GL-4 gear oil. Only one place I know of that carries it and that's NAPA. Another choice would be Redline synthetic, I think Redline MTL is the one you want. There is MT-90, but I don't think that's equivilent to GL-4 standards. The ATF is for the transfer case. I just changed mine last night. darn thing was half empty :o Good Luck, Aaron
