The Mr Jim Pathy

This is my 1994 Nissan Pathfinder XE...  It is a great vehicle.  With the original 153hp V6 Engine, it was a bit under powered in some situations, so I had a rebuild done in 2001 where the cylinders were bored out .060 over stock. While the engine was out, I had a new clutch installed.   Following that, I added Platinum+4 Bosch plugs that have the 4 core centers for a hotter firing.  I added new Nissan plug wires and a K & N Cone filter intake.  Next, I removed the stock muffler and added a glass pack muffler that has a great thunderous roar to it.

In 2002, I gave in to my urges and purchased the current wheels that I have.  They are the Modern-ARE Type 160 Atlas wheels.   I had seen these wheels around for about a year on other vehicles and really liked them.  They are great and of course, I did buy 5 of them so my rear mounted spare would match.

In 2003, I added a 3" body lift to it.  It looked great, but when I installed my ARB bumper and 8k capacity Warn winch to the front end and it forced the front end to drop a few inches from the added weight.  To correct this, I first added Gabriel Mono Tube Shocks to the front end and Monroe Air Shocks to the rear.  I then ordered and installed new Calmini Torsion Bars and they finally did the trick.  By themselves, the Calmini Torsion Bars raised the front end back to a level height again.  With a stable lift, I then added 5 new mud traction 12.50x33x15" tires from Les Schwab.  I also have a Rancho steering stabilizer to help tame those oversized tires.   Next, I added the Calmini Steering Performance Kit.  Both bumpers had to be raised for the body lift.  The rear was very easy.  It was just a matter of unbolting and rebolting to different holes that were already there on the frame.  The front ARB bumper required fabrication to make it work with the new body lift.  My neighbor, who owns Sidecars Northwest, did the refab work on the bumper for me.  He did a great job.

Next, it was time for my off-road lighting again.  I added 2 6" round 150 watt lights and 2 rectangle 100 watt lights to the front bumper for optimum visibility while on the trails.

I added tow shackles to the front bumper for towing and winching.  I moved my factory heavy duty tow hook to the rear.  I also added a serious tow package and my air shocks keep it nice and level, no matter what I am towing.

Okay, time for an update.  I recently added custom built Rock Sliders under my doors.

I added a roof rack with lights on all sides.

I added a 16" electric puller fan and took out the original clutch and fan.

I added a thermostat for the new fan.

I purchased Pace Setter headers and had them installed with a new Delta Flow, Flow Master Muffler and dual exhaust.

I purchased Lund medium sized Hood Scoops, but have not installed them yet...

UPDATE: Headers installed 2/20/04 and dual outlet Flowmaster muffler was added with dual pipe out the back.  Header Installation

Here is a video clip showing Pathfinder speed and also sound of new headers.  I was holding camera in one hand and shifting gears.  I am not sure how I was steering.  ???  That is a scary thought.
