Hi guys, I have strayed across the pond :hide: from England to have a chat. Not too good at this just yet, so stick with me. Looking to get some detail on the Nissan pathfinder as I have ordered a new one for April 2006. It will be a diesel as fuel over here is like liquid gold and the V6's are just not readily available. Good looking forum and I hope to learn a bit and add a bit if possible WAVEY

Oh move me if I have posted in the wrong place, English of course we drive on the wrong side of the road as well ;)

Welcome! WAVEY

Unfortunatly as before mentioned diesel pathfinders are not an option here in North America so most of us won't be able to give you much advice. :sniff: However I can say that the new pathy's are nice, of course not as nice as a 2 door 87-90! :P

Thanks for the welcome guys :D . I will keep you informed of the Diesel Pathfinder progress. We have to have security guards on our fuel tanks over here due to the cost of the fuel now, nearing £5 a gallon and going up daily. I pay more for my house heating fuel than you guys do for your truck fuel  35pence per litre.

I am off roading in a Pathfinder on Friday with the regional Nissan rep. He has never taken a 4x4 off road, so I said I would show him what it does. That will be interesting because it will be my first time off road in a Pathfinder.

I hate to say it, but I was a Land Rover man, but they let me down once to many times, so the Pathfinder and Navara are now in my fleet. Looking forward to chatting to you guys. Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Tired of the old Lucas electronics eh?

Land Rovers are great, but I don't know about the new ones, they aren't as off road orientated as the older Discoveries and Defenders.

I'm sure you'll love the Pathfinder, you should look into making your own biodiesel. It's a LOT cheaper than paying at the pump, if a bit more time consuming... :aok:

Hi guys, I took the dealers Pathfinder off road today, with the senior sales manager and Dealer Principle on board. They had never been off road  , so I said I would show them. I have to say, the Pathfinder performed very well indeed. It was on standard road tyres and went through some serious cross axle situations and I even carried out a failed hill climb recovery.

Wading is a little shallow to what I amused to at 450mm, but that can be remedied.

Hopefully I will be able to post a couple of photographs over the weekend. I am very impressed with the performance so far, cannot wait to get mine now. Have to praise the dealership for getting their nice T spec Pathfinder really dirty. :cool2:
