vengeful
Do you think the shocks need to be replaced? You're the only one who can tell if the shocks are bad. Struts, go with KYB GR-2 Shocks, I've used Rancho 9000s, but I just ordered a set of Bilstein 5100s.
2001pathfinderLE
oh i nkow your not here to check them personally. the question was more along the lines of the normal time people changed theirs.
vengeful
Well....I've got about 60,000 very hard abusive miles on my shocks and they're just going now....I figure it's best to change them before I drive cross country rather than wait. Runnerman
Hey Dan do you know if Rancho adjustables are available for the R50 Rancho says no but I think I read on Ac someone has them. If so do you know the part# for them. I have the OME front HD springs but I need some struts for them. Looking for the Remote adjustables FYI. Thanks,
vengeful
Stay away from the remote adjuster. It causes the shocks to leak and fail prematurely. Sorry, I don't have the Rancho PN for the 9000s that I have. I do know that they're not made specifically for the Pathfinder but they do work. AC sells them. Runnerman
Ok so KYB or OME Struts which ones you figure are better?
Filthy Luker
Stay away from the remote adjuster. It causes the shocks to leak and fail prematurely. That's what I heard too... especially if you wheel as Marcel does. I heard that the lines are fragile and get ripped off by crap. I was gonna have my RS9000x remotely adjustable, but I just manually set them to highest setting all round and I've been happy with it in all conditions ever since.
vengeful
Ok so KYB or OME Struts which ones you figure are better? I don't have any experience with the OME struts, but I've used KYB struts on almost every vehicle I've owned with nary a problem.
herm
I don't think anyone (on the R50 boards) has tried the Emu struts yet. They just appeared as a line-item. I haven't seen specs, but if it's anything like the Emu shocks, I'd expect them to be very serious-duty dimensions... which would be a good thing! try some Aussie boards? Try emailing this guy for any down-under info: http://www.thrsolutions.com.au/Pathy/pathfindermods.html m.

nissandoms47
yeah i was also wanting to replace my shocks and struts, how does the gr-2's up front and the rs5000's in the back sound? should i go with the rancho struts and the rs9000's? more pricy. Entropy98
Go with the KYB GR-2 in the front and for the rear I have heard that the rs9000 are good because you can adjust them for what you need.
