For anyone wondering what the trim (XE or SE) is for your 93-95 Pathfinder.

XEs have a white "Pathfinder" sticker on the rear side window.

SEs have a gold one.

With no sunroof, its most likely a XE. Do you have the Comfort/Sport switch in your center console? I've seen one SE in my life that didnt have a sunroof, and it was a 88. And I only assumed it was a SE because it had SE seats, but it was in a junkyard so the rest was pretty stripped.

ToolShed (my parts truck) is a SE and is exact opposite of WhiteOwl (the one everyone around here knows/sees) and is a SE. Both are 88s

'87 SE and '95 XE.

I really miss my power windows and locks, voltmeter, sunroof, and tire carrier =/

Also, i don't know if this has to do with the years, but the extra fuel gage in my 87 and dual tripometers were pretty damn useful...

so i'll have to go with the SE

You tell me,

My registration says "SE", Rear Hatch say "XE", Decals on side Doors say "SE" Rear Quarter Panel (under rear window) says safari edition. Cloth interior (grey), Power Windows, Power Door Locks, 5 spd Manual, 4.375 Gears and a sunroof ??? I think It's an SE, with an incorrect decal on the rear hatch, but who knows.

Most likely SE. Do your seats have holes in the headrests? Do you have the comfort/sport switch in your center console?

Does SE stand for Safari Edition?

The cloth on and SE and XE for the 1995 are noticeably different.

There are two videos below.

This video is of an SE. Beginning at the :55 second and 1:52 marks is when the cloth seating can be seen in detail. This is the 94, but

the cloth is the same.

Is this the same cloth?

Or is this the cloth beginning at 2:43.

send your vin number in a private message ( or post it if you want), I can look up what your truck actually is, here is a sample of what comes up with the vin number:

afa6f7.jpg

this tells you the following:

Model series

production date

exterior color

interior color

body style

engine

transmission type

trim level

number of doors

emissions type (fed or Ca)

drive (2 or 4 wheel)

decoding the model number will tell you what options came on the truck originally

SE is not Safari Edition. Its more "Special Edition" or "Sport Edition" though I'm not positive if Nissan actually designates either.

The cloth is different. The SE cloth to me is more "velvet" and the XE cloth is more "tweed"

I own an XE. I really didnt have a choice in the matter, I found it on craigslist for a good price and went for it. I personally Like not having power windows and door locks, less issues to have to worry about later, but I would have went with any of them lol.

After reading these last replies and watching the videos I think Mine's an XE and the SE on the side stands for special edition or something. The cloth matches that of the XE, only difference between the XE in the video and mine is that mine has sunroof and way more rust / body damage.

Sunroof is more likely SE. Do you have the stock wheels? Are they chrome, or are they a silver robot looking wheel? On your center console, do you have a switch that says sport/comfort? Do your headrests have holes in them, or are they solid? If you still have stock shocks, are there wires going to them? Is your radio antennea power, and does it mount on the top/side of the fender, or does it mount on the top of the fender? These are some common SE (or LE, in my experience LE's have no tire carrier and normally have leather) and I think if you hit up Alkarohil he can run your VIN through a program and tell you more.

Ahardbody ran my VIN, came back as an XE. Stock Chrome wheels, no sport comfort switch, headrests are solid. No wires going to my shocks, radio antenna is not power. I figured this much after searching the other posts, just a special edition XE with a sunroof. Thanks though

XE is the base model. SE is sports edition and LE is luxury edition. Mine is a 1998 Chilkoot, which is a SE with speical graffics, numbered plague, alum. step rails.,special floor mats, compass and carbon fiber dash. It came w/o heated, power leather seat and no sunroof. The XE and LE have 7.5" ground clearance and have P235/70/15 tires. The SE and Chilkoot have 8.3" clearance with P265/70/15 tires. The SE, Chilkoot and LE had the fender flares. The 2001 prices were;

XE $35,900

SE $40,200

LE $44,300 That's Canadian prices.

If anyone can add to that I'd like to know any other differences for the 1998's.
