Guest
So I've got a fully stock 4x4 97 and I'm wandering if I can put 31x10.50s on it while still being able to drive it. I'm an electrician so I need it to be reasonably offroadable but I have a hard time getting the stock tire size in my area. None of the shops carry them are they are expensive to ship. If not, can I just put some spacers in it? Like 1in pucks? Tight budget, so I'd like to get the biggest I can with the stock wheels. I'm kinda new to fitment stuff so if anyone knows if I can get 31s that would be awsome.
PatDes
I ran 265 70 r17s with 0 offset wheels on my 04 before i lifted it. Had to trim just a touch of the inner fender. If you're running stock rims you probably won't even have to do that
Guest
Hey thanks so much for the advice, but I'm a bit confused because the wheels in that picture appear to have more offset then stock. Meaning more clearance than normal.
XPLORx4
Running stock wheels on a 97, you can fit 31x10.50R15 tires without a suspension lift. You may need to do very slight trimming of the front fender liners or the front mudflaps.

Inconsequential tire rub on fender liner at bottom on the very inside front at full steering lock but zero other issues. Did this on a stock 97 4x4 on stock 15” rims. Guest
Sweet! Yeah I'm really looking forward to it, mine has all the blacked out trim so I painted the wheels black as well. I might get some rubber or plastic and make some spacers to lift it a little. I'd really like to have about 1in
Guest
Well, i had to spend a bunch of money on a new radiator and junk so i had to get some linglong windtrail or somthing. But theyre 31x10.5s and they fit perfectly. Really love them Edited April 3, 2023 by Everett
