Front crossmember/subframe replacement

Hello guys. I have seen a number of posts here on the front subframe drop to lift R50 Pathfinders. Can the same process to be used to remove the existing subframe and replace it with another one, without having to use an engine hoist to support the engine? If yes, does it add much complexity to the job?  Please provide your comments.

If you need to replace the entire subframe, you’ll want to remove the steering rack and front differential and its mounting brackets first, if for nothing more than weight reduction. Then, when the engine is supported (via hoist or floor jack) and the lower control arms are no longer attached, the subframe is ready to be removed. If you’re using a floor jack to support the engine, the tricky part will be evenly supporting the subframe and lowering it away from the chassis with enough clearance to slide it out, then getting the new subframe lined up and installed. If you have a 2 post lift and a transmission jack, of course the job will go much easier.

Sure, or buy one of these: https://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lb-capacity-engine-support-bar-96524.html
