tsames Posted June 14, 2018 Share Posted June 14, 2018 Hi there! New member here. I've got a British import R51 with a manual transmission YD25. I'm getting a bit of squealing from the serpentine belt when I start the engine from cold, and have noticed that the power steering pump seems to be making some squealing noises too. I imagine I'll need to replace the serpentine belt, but can't seem to find a link to information on the process of changing this belt; everything seems to be written about petrol/gas engines. Citron Posted June 19, 2018 Share Posted June 19, 2018 Since you have had no response, I will take a stab at it. I don't know the particulars of that engine, but the serpentine belt will have a tensioner on it somewhere. If you can locate that, then put a socket and breaker bar on the pulley bolt head and push it away from the belt to reduce belt tension.
