d.carver87
Decided i cant let this thing go to the junk yard because I know theres still years of enjoyment left in it. Motors shot as is the Trans so step 1 will be removing both. Have been searching for hours trying to find a how to on these matters but cant find anything does anybody know of one? Thanks for all the help im sure i will get over the next few months
Slartibartfast
I don't think I've seen a step by step for engine/trans removal in an R50 but if you haven't yet, download the service manual for your year. I don't know if there's a specific procedure for removing the engine and trans but I wouldn't be surprised.
d.carver87
Is the Fsm any better than a Chilton?? I have a chilton on hand
01Pathmaker
The Chilton & Haynes are good, but designed to help the shadetree mechanic, whereas the FSM is much more thorough, designed to walk professional techs through every diagnostic and repair procedure on the vehicle. It's the first one I open when I need to find a specific section for a part.
Slartibartfast
What I did was download the lot of them, then rename each one with the section name, not just the abbreviation. After you use it for a while, the abbreviations and organization start to make some amount of sense.
hawairish
For some FSMs, if you download them all into a single folder and start with the fwd.pdf, you can just click around to get into the section and pages you need. Probably depends on how the FSMs were imported (i.e., scanned from book or from original CDs or other digital imports).
