Weirdest problem ever

I have the weirdest problem (not really a problem, but an oddity). My parking/emergency brake will turn on sometimes during right turns. Only on right turns never left, and then only sometimes. I know the e brake isn't engaging (that would be kinda cool though, get to do e brake turns everywhere -bounce- ). Any ideas as to why this is happening?

I'll venture a couple guesses...

The light comes on when the switch is activated, and the switch is mounted somewhere on the brake handle. I don't have a schematic near me, but I would guess it would be a ground switch so there is only one wire to run down to the switch. I'd bet:

1) The wire is slightly pinched somewhere and the insulation is cut through, but the copper conductor is very close but not quite touching a piece of metal right next to it. When turning right, something flexes a tiny bit, just enough to make the conductor touch which provides a ground path for the indicator light.

2) The switch is loose or misadjusted.

Placing my $.02 bet on 1)....

Definately check! Losing your brakes is a BAD THING. If you're not sure what to look for, take it to a chain brake shop, as most will do an inspection for free. Sure, they may try and get you for bogus stuff, but they most likely will also find the problem. Then, if they're reasonable and its something you don't want to mess with, let them do it. If not, have at it on your own and consider it their fault for trying to screw you. ;)

Checked fluid level, it's not low but it's not full either. It's about halfway between low and max. I'll top it off just in case.

It doesn't take much of a drop in fluid level to trigger the light. Topping it off should do it.
