rmj_512
Hi,guys I own a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder XE just recently when I was on the freeway the engine just died & wouldn't start for a few seconds luckily I was able to get home safely. Then this morning as I was warming it up after 5 mins it just dies & wouldn't start right away, had to wait a few seconds then it would start right up again. Do you guys have any insight on what the problem might be? Thank You in advance
txpath4x4
I know on a GM that would be the ignition control module without a doubt . ( the trapezoid object mounted behind the coil I believe on the nissan)
SpecialWarr
It could be a fuel pump on it's way out but you should be able to hear the pump kick in when you hit the ON part of the ignition cycle before you start it. The timing on the distributor might be off just enough to be a pain, you may want to check that the distributor is clocked and locked down ( 15-17 degrees of advance at idle, I believe) And that's all I got! 5523Pathfinder
Main EFI relay. Mine did this exact same thing when it failed. It's located on the right fender well in the black relay box. It's a green relay. The relay box is labeled. rmj_512
Also, I forgot to mention the car dieing in the freeway happened right after getting a full tank of gas. Thanks for all your help.
