gutbusterman
Hi all. I bought a 95 Pathy 4x4 XE about 2 months ago, and of course the tranny pooped out after noticing reverse was a little delayed. I have read on here Xterra transmissions swap right in. I found an awesome deal (I hope) locally, 160k mile Xterra trans, fluid looks good. But, I don't know how to identify the transmission. I did find a tag that says: JATCO CORP 4FX01 3720772 A little search on the google shows it as an old part number for the trans/transfer case unit but no ID otherwise. Any thoughts? adamzan
There should be something near the bell housing. I believe mine had the vin of the xterra it came from. Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
hawairish
If the VIN plate is still on the transmission, you can use it determine the year, engine, and drivetrain. That should be enough info to determine if it's the right one.
adamzan
As long as it is any xterra trans it will be fine. If it ends up being out of a supercharged, you need the flexplate (flywheel) from the SC motor as the bolt pattern for the Torque converter is different. APACHECHIEF13
When doing this swap is there any programming for the transmission and will my vg30i computer run the trans? P.s. If I did use the ecu from the xterra will that run my vg30i run or no?
Cuong Nguyen
The tcm is separate from the ecu. You will probably need to check the wiring and see if yours is a 3 speed or 4 speed. I'm not familiar with the older model pathfinder transmission. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
