Dma251
I'm getting ready to replace the shocks on my 91 SE with Bilstein 4600 monotubes. I want to add some adjustable load-levelling system since I sometimes use a rtt, or carry heavy gear, and other times I'm running light. his leads me to two basic options: Airbags that ride inside the coils like the airlift 1000, or monroe or ACdelco rear airshocks. The advantage to the airbags is that I can run the bilsteins in the back, too. The disadvantage is it is more complicated and I worry that the bags might bind in the coils under high degrees of articulation. Does anyone have any experience with either of these on a pathfinder? Precise1
I'd go with the bags. It gives you the most flexability and redundancy of the two choices and they seem to work out well/be perfectly durable. This is what has been discussed here... http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/37190-air-lift-1000-leveling-air-bags/ B
Nefarious
For what it's worth, my truck sees the exact same situations as you described and my choice is going to be the airbags. With a small 12v compressor or belt driven compressor, it makes the system very versatile and once those bags are deflated they won't hinder your articulation. Dma251
Thanks, guys. I ordered the bilsteins for all corners and airlift 1000 kit. Now its on to tires. Thinking of getting 5 31" BFG AT's, but Im tempted by those goodyear MTRs, too.
