nunya
Factory roof rack and a pair of ratchet straps? Honestly that's about all I see on a lot of vechiles lately (mainly because I've actually been paying attention
devonianwalk
Factory roof rack and a pair of ratchet straps? This is my method. Why spend the coin for a purpose built carrier when two cheap ratchet straps function just fine?

devonianwalk
... my 10ft goes on the roof with the adition of some foam blocks and tie downs Oh yeah, my brother has a $25 Walmart kayak carrier that consists of two notched foam blocks and two pull straps that go through the door sills. It seems to work pretty good.
matthew954
The guys who run the local kayak shop in my town, always tell me just to use the factory roof rack and some quality cam straps. So thats what I always have used on mine. They say you can put up to 4 10 foot kayaks on top of a mid size SUV. Though I've never actually tried it. I've only gone as far as 2 boats. Tie the first boat to the roof rack with the cockpit facing down. Make sure its as far over as you can push it. Then tie the other boats with the cockpits facing the first boat. Tie each boat to the next boat. It has worked for me so far.
Inyourface1650
I use these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003V57NUQ/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They seem to hold on juuuuuuust fine Even offroad. Rubber foam is a bit cheap, but it holds well.
Alkorahil
Nissan once made one but it is discontinued and no longer available. P/N 999R1-KL002 It also required the mounts (sold as a set of 4) to install it: P/N 999R1-XK002 IIRC Yakima was the supplier for Nissan.
