new4x4r
Dana 44 has much more aftermarket available. With that, components are cheap as hell and you can get them everywhere, not limited to one shop. And its tough enough for what I wanna do! new4x4r
$300 for the locker, $160 for the gears, $200 for the install kit, $150 for the axle, $140 for the heim joints and bushings, just waiting on the DS lengthening
devonianwalk
Nice job so far. You guys are proving that the R50 is very capable to mod with the right tools and " know how".
new4x4r
Hahaha the "right" know how? If I had that, I'd buy something else! Hahaha
Enjoi408
Looking beastly! dumb question: What's the smaller arm that attaches to the axle and lower arm for? Is it to prevent axle torque?
new4x4r
Yes. I went with the radius arm mount because I made everything 4" longer and the 4 link would have hit everything
muddfildvaynes
Is that panhard drop going to get in the way? It just looks like it could snag on something while crawling and rip off, otherwise very good design and I am kinda jealous... My pathy is still on jack stands in the garage because I am currently fixing my boat... Edited June 25, 2013 by muddfildvaynes
new4x4r
Its about 8" shorter then the OEM one with the SFD drop bracket. I never hit that on anything. I'm gonna brace it up a bit before I hit the trail. But it won't hit anything.
new4x4r
Ok, got the rear end completed!! I'm happy with the way it turned out! New Stance And new brake system... Got rid of the MC/ABS and most of the line The ride control is soooo much better now that I don't have the broken rear control arm bushings. The brakes, wow, unbelievable difference! I'll post the video of the rear end working on a mild offroad run, when I get out of this God forsaken province hahaha
