In the example link above you can delete the tail end of the result to get to the topic your result was found in.

Search Result Link:

http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?/topic/33061-2wd-steering-setup-installed-w-pictures-using-oem-steering-damper/page__view__findpost__p__622028__hl__%2Bsway+%2Bbar

Delete back to the post number and it should/will hopefully take you to or close to the post your search result was targeting:

http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?/topic/33061-2wd-steering-setup-installed-w-pictures-using-oem-steering-damper/page__p__622028#entry622028

Modify by deleting back to the topic title and it will drop you at the begining of the topic:

http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?/topic/33061-2wd-steering-setup-installed-w-pictures-using-oem-steering-damper/

I know this is a bit of a pain, but if you click the link in the search result then just delete from the address bar, it only takes a couple seconds.

The added characters are causing the bad page links and we"ll get it fixed as soon as we can.

I don't know if this is the right place to post or not but there should be a feature in the "Quick Navigation" Panel where you can save a link to a certain thread or post for future referral.

Bottom Line: Search Works Again! :aok:

-----------------------------------------------------------

Working with IPS and our hosting companies Tech Support departments, it appears that the search issues have een resolved.

However, there is something to note regarding some saved links. If you have saved some direct links since we moved the forum to nissanpathfinders.net that were aquired using the forums search function before today, you may need to edit the link (only if it is not working)

We'll use the the thread titled "How to: Prevent Fire (clean blower resistors)" as an example

Here is the current URL for this thread:

http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/topic/7466-how-to-prevent-fire-clean-blower-resistors/

If you have a newer style URL (known as a FURL) saved that does not work, then it likley includes invalid character strings at the end of the URL. In this case please delete anything from the URL after the topic description. In the example above, that would be anything after "...clean-blower-resistors/"

If that does not work, then you can also try removing "index.php?" from the URL shown here

http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?/topic/7466-how-to-prevent-fire-clean-blower-resistors/

(remember to leave only one / between "forum" and "topic" so it would look like "forum/topic"

The old style URL's show below should also continue to work correctly, but please not that they will be converted to the newer style, when loading the page.
