1987caddy
Hey everyone, I was looking around on rockauto.com and they have a beck/arnley fuel pump for 52,Delphi for 102 and the Bosch pump for 185. Truck runs good now but like to stock up on parts if there cheap enough. Does anyone has any comments or experience with these brands?
MY1PATH
I belive the Bosch Is OEM. They have a pretty relyable productline and a majority of OE elctrical components on the pathy are BOSCH.
sammyb33
Stocking up on fuel pumps? Are you really expecting to replace one in the near future?
1987caddy
It's taking a little longer to start than before and I believe the pump is stock. If rockauto has stuff on sale, I'll buy things and put them up.
MY1PATH
I would check on many other things for starting before thinking its the fuel pump. For example did you know a standard sparkplug can grow over .005" in gap during 30k period? Spark timing fuel filter air filter air sensor (clean it) the list goes on, there are allot of cheap basics you chan check on first.
k9sar
There aren't a lot of actual manufacturers of fuel pump. Even the BOSCH one I bought was made by Airtek
wilson
mine has always made this crazy buzzing noise. but only when I'm in the middle of nowhere. amplitude is directly linked to distance from main road or cell service. have oftenen thought of just replacing the damn thing. anyone else have that problem? 1987caddy
I've replaced the plugs, checked the timing and air filter and sensor. Was just thinking about a 15yr old fuel pump leaving me stuck in the middle of nowhere. I try to do as much preventive maintaince as possible. My time is streched so thin, I like to fix things before they break.
MY1PATH
understandable, but my 20 year old fuel pump still charges full line preassure in under 3 seconds after truning the key.(using a fuel psi guage) That is a healty pump.
