Tranny Grinding?

Well I got a new one today!

I can shift into all gears fine and the clutch grabs well.

But when I take off, it sounds like it grinds a little bit, mostly in second gear, and seemingly more so on right turns. Sometimes in third as well, but just barely and at lower speeds (putting more stress on tranny?). After this first bit of noise and a little gas it goes away until putting more torque on things again.

Throwout bearing? Syncros? Mounts? Im not really sure what to think on this one.

I am going to check wheel bearings tomorrow but just wanted some thoughts on this. (I dont believe its the wheel bearings however)

Im looking around for GL-4 fluid but many of you know its a pain.

I will probably just order redline MT-90? soon.

Thanks guys!

Drain and refill the fluid when you can.

Throwout bearing should not effect it changing gears in the manner you are describing. But it is an inexpensive part and a good idea to replace whenever you do a clutch job or have the trans off.

clutch freeplay? how is gl 4 hard to find?

Well it may be easier for you to find, but I went all over looking for the right tranny fluid and only Action Auto parts had the right stuff, which was Redline MT-90.
