New From California

Hi all,

Have been lurking since I bought my Silver 02 Pathfinder last week and just decided to join as I am starting to do both maintenance and modifications. I downloaded the service manual yesterday and have been reading up.

My pathfinder is stock, save for slightly oversized tires (245/70R16) and I removed the running boards. I am 6'2" and they got in the way.

Tomorrow is a big day for me:

New fuel filter

Coolant flush

Window and Sunroof lube

New cabin filters

New oil and oil filter

Attempt to solve some electrical gremlins (sunroof, dome light, keyless entry and fog light mod)

Once that is done, I am sending it to two mechanics. First, a 4WD specialist to check driveline, brakes, steering, etc. and all new Royal Purple Synthetics in everything. Then a tune-up guy to check compression, timing, plugs, etc. and get her purring.

Once all the maintenance items are looking good.... it will be time to mod!

I already tried the fog light mod.... which, as simple as it is, and with as much auto experience as I have.... I failed. The fogs now operate independently from the head lights but still turn off when the high beams are activated. Any ideas?

Once I know how to post pics, I will put some up here. This SUV thing is a big step for me, as I have always been a sports car guy.

I look forward to being a part of the community.

-Casey

Welcome to NPORA!

Here's info on posting pics: http://www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=20781

Thanks Pezzy. I will snap some pics today after all the maintenance stuff I am doing and post them up here.

Welcome to NPORA, Casey!!

Congrats on the SUV, I'm sure you'll appreciate it's strong points soon enough. As for your mod mishap, I probably can't help as I specialize in the older models.

I already appreciate it's strong points, I was going to get a 4Runner but then drove a R50 and never looked back. :)

Welcome to the forum Casey

We in oz have those 245/70/16 tyres from std. My road tyres are slightly oversized at 245/75/16 with 31 x 10.5 for off road.

Nick

I assume that 245/60R16 is standard here only because that's what my spare is. Maybe someone can confirm?

yes, that's a std size for the US

welcome to the family :friday: (I am a refugee OUT of CA) :D

Don't you mean escapee? Really though, I don't blame the people who leave. There is way too much screwy stuff goin on out here. It's just a matter of whether it is worth putting up with it for the perfect weather, women, beaches, mountains, etc. This time of year, every other week, I go snowboarding and surfing on the same day.

Hopefully I will finally post some pics up today....
