MikeV
Travel Management & Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Program map links State by State http://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/programs/ohv/ohv_maps.shtml They are supposedly going to have this complete in 2 years If you look at an existing map on this site and it is missing a trail let the local forestry service know and try to have it added (Squeaky wheel gets the grease) Sorry if this is a repost!-) I searched and it didn't come up anywhere here.
94extreme
good link. the only problem is that some of the MVUMs linked there are out of date. you still want to go to each particular unit's website and DL the most recent set of maps. btw. they are also in huge format. 8.5x11 won't do them any justice. Randy
Oh this is great thank you! I once tried to take a trip from my house to the coast on roads like this by only using my GPS...Bad idea we ended up on an old old road that nobody has been through for years, trees were down all over and there was a wall on one side and a sheer cliff on the other. We were lucky to make it out of there in once piece!
Slartibartfast
Doesn't sound so bad... more of an adventure really.
Randy
It was quite the adventure but I left out the good part honestly, we were 30 miles from anywhere and my dad, driving a awd Mariner got stuck in a washout that I made look so easy to him he just knew he could do it. We didn't have a tow strap or chain like morons...we didn't plan on anything but gravel/dirt roads, I believe this was an old logging road. I ended up having to backtrack to the next town with a store that could carry a chain and $180 later he was out and we were back to our trip to Newport...on the roads for the rest of the trip. It was a great day tho!
NissanNismoZ
Hah, this is pretty sweet, we followed one of these roads deep into the woods and came out 6 hours later 56 miles away from home! Luckily we knew the town it led us to well, but it made for a fun adventure in Pathy!
