zanegrey
hey guys, i was hoping some one could tell me if the carb used on the vg30 is the same as the carb on the 720 z24 engines ?? thank you
OldSlowReliable
I don't think so, the z24 was actually a z24i, whereas it depends what vg30 you're getting it from if im correct, because there was the vg30i and the vg30e, oh yeah, just to clarify, its a throttle body vs a carb, although it is very similar. I don't think a vg30i would work, because I believe they used an air box vs a circular air filter on top, and idk if it would serve the correct purpose
zanegrey
the 720 does have a carb which makes the z24 engine just that a z24 (not i ) did any of the earlier vg30 have carbs? i know they have the tbi then multi port injection later... thanks

Kingman
The VG30I uses a Hitachi throttle body with 2 Bosch JL-tronic fuel injectors mounted on top.
MY1PATH
just to free up some confusion; the TBI(not MPFI) z24 & vg30 had round airboxes/filters that sat right ontop of the TBI unit giving the impression of a carb. the z24i and vg30i used the same throttle body & injectors but the airbox on the z24i was smaller. Alkorahil
no carbs on vg30 in the states. Nissan Motorsport provided a carb dor the VG30 a long time ago when they were racing that engine. It required a new intake manifold as well but they are no longer available.
