Crispyc
Every time it rains the carpet in my Pathfinders cargo area gets wet. I believe rain is leaking in from the rear hatch window weather strip. The weatherstrip does not appear to be torn or dry rotted. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it.
GrimGreg
Try adjusting the latch, it might not be pulling the window tight enough to seal out the water.

94extreme
check the whole gate too. that's more likely to be leaking as there is area for the water to be held up in there.

5523Pathfinder
Mine was leaking at the top of the rear window weatherstrip. I could see streaks down the glass everytime I washed it. I took some small vacuum hose and made a small slit in the weatherstrip. I sprayed silicone lube in the slit and on the piece of vaccum hose. Slid the hose into the slit and down the weatherstrip. Sealed the end with some weatherstrip adhesive and let dry. Its been fine ever since.

morpheus
To find a water leak, climb in the back and close everything up. Have a friend use a garden hose (not a pressure washer) and hose down the suspected areas. Run the water for several minutes in each location and watch for it coming in. PamPoovey
I know my weatherstrip needs to replaced -I used to haul all sorts, beating up the weather strip. The Nissan part # is 90310-41G16 but I sure don't like the price! http://www.nissanpartswebstore.com/p/Nissan__/Glass-wstrip/54400721/9031041G16.html Anyone know if I can get away with using from another Pathy year (I also have an 02) http://www.ebay.com/itm/NISSAN-OEM-05-12-Pathfinder-Lift-Gate-Weatherstrip-Seal-90310EA50A/201907752205?_trksid=p2047675.c100623.m-1&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D44732%26meid%3D9d6c21afeb9b4bb7b8dd11abc86ecca3%26pid%3D100623%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D322545043553 or if you think this may work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/20ft-05-Rubber-Door-Edge-Seal-Trim-Strip-All-Weather-Protect-For-Chevy-Camaro/132066306464?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 If money wasn't an issue, I'd go with the Nissan straight up! As they say on Game of Thrones, winter is coming! I want to resolve this leak real soon.
Citron
I used a universal bulb seal from J.C. Whitney to replace the seal around my rear glass. Just need to make sure all of the measurements are correct. You do need the one around the glass and not the one around the door right?
PamPoovey
Dang, thought it had registered my response earlier. Yes, the one that rest under the glass of the lift gate.
PamPoovey
This was the one that I ended up purchasing https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NLQ1T6O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (the price has increased since I purchased) And now I am waiting for the next rain to see if it works as great as it looks! It definitely was the seal, it was quite wet in on corner once I lifted off the old weather strip.
Citron
I hope it works out. I wish I had seen that because the one I bought only came in 25' chunks, so I have a lot left over.
PamPoovey
I bought the 25' one because my luck, 10' wouldn't be enough due to the facotry's way of trimming it or mine. Now I am afraid to measure what's left!
