*For Immediate Release*

Monday, September 15, 2008 - The Northeast Off-Road Association is pleased to announce it's involvement with the Seventh Annual Pine Barrens Clean-Up. Our Board of Officers has been working with Mike Tarsia, the gentleman coordinating the effort, to assist with the planning, publicity, marketing, and sponsorship of the event.

Over the past six years, hundreds of off-road enthusiasts have converged on the Wharton State Forest in New Jersey, home of the Pine Barrens OHV Area. These enthusiasts have helped to remove thousands of pounds of garbage--including trash, appliances, derelict vehicles, and more. This recreational area is a vital asset to the East Coast Off-Road community, and only remains open today due to the efforts of the enthusiast volunteers who donate their time and effort to maintain the Barrens.

This year, the annual Pine Barrens Clean-Up is scheduled to be held on Sunday, October 26th, 2008. The activities will begin at 9:30AM. Meet at the Atsion Ranger Station off NJ Rt. 206.

NORA will have an information booth at Camp on Saturday night, as well as at the Barrens Sunday Morning and after the event during the Sponsor Raffles. Our booth will contain information about NORA, TreadLightly! and what you can do to help keep OHV Areas like the Pine Barrens open. Registration opportunities for both NORA and TreadLightly! will also be presented.

Be sure to come ready to work, and don't forget to bring gloves!

For more information, feel free to contact any member of the NORA Board of Officers.

Please read this thread on the NORA Site for the most up-to-date Information.

It was a great weekend. They said there were about 160 trucks there. Filled up a big 40-yd dumpster (snow-coned) and snow-coned the boat they dragged out with trash.

Probably about 200 tires, including a full set of almost new 36x12.50x15" Boggers!
